It basically means that if you don't have BT Total Broadband, you can have e-mail address @btinternet.com (which the Total Broadband customers get). From the BT website:

"BT Premium Mail gives you exactly the same functionality as BT Mail - the difference is that you have to pay for it. We offer it to customers who don't want BT Broadband any more but still want to keep their email address."

Only worth it if you leave BT Broadband, but used the Yahoo e-mail address(es) you had with your account and need to keep it.

If this isn't common knowledge, then this should be hot, so thanks for sharing OP. :)

I'd really love to understand the mentality of people who vote "cold" for something like this. It may not be relevant for many people - but for those of us that do pay 1.60 to keep long established BTinternet email addresses it a really useful find. There really are a lot of muppets / trolls who spend far too much time on here looking for ways to be negative.

I just ignored their persuation to upgrade or lose my email accounts and they are still working fine. I wonder if it is a scare tactic to make you pay.

Same here, they have said my BT accounts will be terminated each year for several years now. They are still working but now I only use as spare accounts for deals etc, just in case.
