You mean if he has a laptop ? I dont think he would want to lug a pc to a friends house just for a free weekend :D

A download limitation is rather nul and void for online gaming as the data transfer is quite minimal, however the download of the game side of things is often a problem for most people. Those generally on an unlimited download connection tend to have a selection of devices and will usually have a monitor, kboard etc available to just start the things in motion. Therefore dragging a tower in the boot isn't exactly difficult and to obtain the entire download without costing the earth. I know plenty of people who'd be willing to drag a tower for a few hours, a cuppa and a catch up while it downloads.
Good thing it would happily fit in a pen drive ;) It being a 3d render only and all. :P
That's the link to preload

What did you mean about the pen drive ? That you can just download the files on that and transfer to steam ? So you would need a 16GB Pendrive and how would you do this ? Even if it is possible seems a lot of messing around for what amounts to an extended demo doesnt it ?
According to this online gaming on average uses about 50MB an hour.
