And here are the links for the software on Windows and Mac, just in-case anyone wants them on there too. :)

Clean Master is actually better. It's got a top rated built in AV as well as the system cleaner and optimizer.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard

Clean master is a hog. If you click settings apps you'll see it will ALWAYSS run in the background.

Ccleaner is thinner and lighter app.

I have used PC CCleaner Professional for years and it is very good, very reliable and frequently updated.

I have used other software from this supplier and it has always been of high quality.

Not sure if this will work on my KINDLE Fire HD and not sure if I need it, I'm sure that AMAZON are tracking my every step anyway.

That'll be because it's an antivirus as well. Don't think it would work very well as an AV if it didn't run in the background.

If you think you don't need AV for Android or are using something else, then CCleaner'll be ok, but the all in one package offered by clean master is by no means a system hog and offers complete protection and excellent system cleaning too. It will rid you of junk just as well as CCleaner.

I'll give it a try.

I use CC regularly on my PC, but I'm not completely convinced that I need something like this on my android phone.

it's amazing how much "c" apps leave behind. Even more useful on mobile devices due to storage limitations. worth trying this or clean master, even just to try.

It's a personal preference, so just try both. :)

It's essential if you want to allow it to delete your SMS messages. See mushypeas123's comment above.

As long as you've got Ice Cream Sandwich or a higher version, it should work fine.

To be fair, they did review the 'beta' version. I can only see this app getting better now that it's finally out of the 'beta' stage, and as it gets more popular I'm sure new functions/features will be implemented in time. Just take a look at Piriform's other software, they're all great IMHO. I can't see this being an exception. ;)

Heat added - Thks to Transformers post , it made me look to see if there was an adware cleaner for Android , there are many out there and would be good to get some feedback from users who have tried some.
I came across this one which appears to be fairly new https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keerby.adaware , it looks good and has a live protection mode.
Sorry for being slighlty off topic - :p

Should I put this on my iPad?

This is definitely worth it for anyone using social networking apps (probably everyone), especially google+ with its auto backup. For me it seems to build up to around 100mb cache every couple of days just for g+ which is ridiculous!

There is something immensely satisfying about using "cleaning" software like CCleaner especially on a decrepit, full-to-bursting old phone like the one I've got. Maybe its the inner janitor in me...

nice find OP but like others, im going to stick with Clean Master.

Thks - I have read some mixed reviews on this , the general view is the PC version is better and not so good on Android , but if it works for you then stick with it.
