Over the past 18 months we have built up a community of 18,000 regular Asda shoppers we call it the Pulse of the Nation panel. Each week we seek their views on everything from new product ranges in our stores to events happening around the world.
With the launch of our new initiative Chosen by You, this community will be given unique access to products before they go into store. If you join in youll be able to have a big influence on purchasing decisions in Asda by being involved from the start rather than the end.

We already have many ways of involving our customers in helping us make decisions about products. One current example is our hunt for the right fragrance for a new Asda Orangeflower and Papaya Fabric Softener
Nearly 100 experts, including perfumers and the Asda brand team, and nearly 100 customers were involved in the first stage to narrow down the choice to two fabulous fragrances from an initial 30 variation of Orangeflower and Papaya.
The different fragrances went through various stages of laboratory testing, and were also tested by our home panel, where Asda mums can test them out in real life. Asda mums are fragrance junkies and the smell of their washing is really important to them.
Continuous voting with a much wider range of customers is now under way to select the final fragrance. Its a big decision as we are developing a whole new range of Asda laundry products including laundry powder, liquid capsules, laundry tablets, ironing water and antibacterial fabric refresher.
The whole Orangeflower and Papaya laundry range will have been CHOSEN BY YOU and will be in store in 2010
