Not sure I'd describe Clacton as great, any time I've been to the air show there's always been a massive gap between the planes flying over it,s a nice day out if you don't mind that

Air is usually free and it's invisible to the naked eye so it doesn't sound very interesting. :p
Heat added.

The only pay and display car parks i know of are one in the town centre, outside the pier and the Toby Carvery there are plenty side roads and places along the sea front you can park free, when i visit Clacton i always manage to park up in a side road for the day

Wait, weekday. Sacrilege

It's free guys, have a long bank holiday weekend and make a trip of it
There are attractions, kiosks and stalls along the seafront (to keep busy as there isn't a red arrow in the sky every second

well I was interested until I searched Premier Inns for a room - guess they know it's popular - at £163 for Thursday/Friday night - over double a normal room cost.

Nice if you can get there for a day trip or two though - heat added

Always advise people to get there nice and early as it gets pretty packed.Since they stopped the Southend airshow the crowds for this increased.Don't need to worry about parking as I let the train take the strain from Chelmsford & back.Fish & chip supper afterwards makes it a great day out. ;)
