For the first time ever, EA has released free games.

So for free

Command & Conquer
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun

I believe it will need XP to get them to work, not sure on Windows Vista or windows 7. Worth a shot.

Awesome deal!!!!!!!!!

I recommend trying Red Alert and if you can look past the dated the dated graphics but enjoy the gameplay, definitely go pick up Red Alert 2/Yuris Revenge double pack for a fiver from Game or wherever. Just superb in every way over the original and still gets regularly played in my house.
#9
Working for me now. Just keep trying! Allied Disc of Rd Alert is 500mb

Yep link is working again.

Just downloaded Tiberian Sun in just over 3 mins. Virgin 50Mb broadband I love you.....lol.

I remember being one of the first to get BT Broadband back in the day and at 60kB/s I was an INTERNET GOD! :p

Kids today etc.

Red Alert 2 is I think the best in the series.

So much better in both game play terms and weirdly enough Graphics, than RA3.

I don't know how EA managed to make RA3 look worse than RA2.

Agreed. I've been a fan of the C&C games since Westwood Studios made them, but I hated RA3, absolute rubbish.

cracking freebie!!
#21
imo still the easiest rts to pick and play due to its excellent and mostly intuitive controls.....unlike Company of Heroes - gave up after 30mins in frustration with its terrible control system
#22
red alert was one of the first decent games to start online multiplayer I believe
Fantastic, still have it lying around somewhere. although starcraft was pritty good to

I'm going to give RA3 another go, if only for Tim Curry. Must admit though, I think a lot of people still like the simplicity of the old school 'tank rush' C&C games.

I had a 14k modem, I was the envy of all my 9k mates ;-)

Does anyone know how to install Tiberian Sun? I've unzipped it, can't figure what to do next. I don't have a CD drive but I have a virtual DVD/CD that I can mount.

I'd give it a go just for the bird from hollyoaks!

C&C4 is available for pre-order for £22.99 here:

TO PLAY TIBERIAN SUN:

* Unzip the .RAR file to C:\Program Files directory, after completion the file structure should begin with the EA Games folder

* Simply click the "Play Tiberian Sun" shortcut in the EA Games folder

from: http://na.llnet.cnc3tv.ea.com/u/f/eagames/cnc3/cnc3tv/TibSunFreeware_install.html

The instructions for Red Alert installations are here: http://www.cncworld.org/?page=features/tutorials/rafree

Many thanks, if you unzip this to any other folder the "play Tiberian Sun" icon doesn't show.

I've gave you some rep,

Excellent find - heat added and thanks to the OP
One query: which folder do you unpack the .rar to in Windows 7 64-bit? C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files(x86)\ ?

You got me thinking when you mentioned the graphics - it could pass as an arcade game now, on XBLA/PSN. They really overcomplicated everything in RA3 IMO. The superweapon upgrade system was dire, and should have been left to just having 1 kick-ass superpower per faction. How immense were the Nukes, or the French cannon thing, or an army of V3 rockets or the IFV+ Chrono guys? Awesome awesome awesome.:-D

Tiberian Sun - awesome game! =)
#34
a good find this, heat added.
#35
Great Deal. Which is the newest of all these? or did they all come out at a similar time (my best bets the tiberian wars one is the newest?)
#36
Tiberian Sun was the best one ever made :D
#37
Great find, thanks, but need a bit of help, i keep getting one or more dll file missing error message when trying to launch the game for tiberian sun
#38
Quick thing to point out; when you extract it you NEED to put it at the root of program files. Dont worry you wont have loads of loose files everywhere, it makes a folder for you named EA Games...

I think your clicking on the wrong one, I got a similar message. Click 'Game' under the SUN folder

If not that make sure you extracted the file in the root of program files.
