E-Sword Bible Research Tool for Windows

E-Sword is one of the most powerful Bible research utilities. It includes about 20 translations, 15 Greek/Hebrew dictionaries, commentaries, maps, charts, Nasa photos of the middle east, Josephus' works, and many other literary works.

Download the main application, install it and restart. Next goto the download pages and select which add-ons you want. The free downloads are the ones with the down-arrow next to them. Install each add-on separately.

Oh wow, a Bible research tool?

Finally people might be able to research the hundred or so massive contradictions, realise it was written a few hundred years after the life of the characters and is actually as realistic as a J.K. Rowling novel.

I swear they'll find a dedication page and an 'other books by this author' list if they keep digging.

Far be it for me to start a religious brigade discussion, but I think you'll find that a lot of religions had their books written after the life of their characters.

I'm not a Christian, but I find it amusing - and annoying - that those that are quick to denegrate other religions often have very little tolerance about the same being said for the ones they believe in.

BTW - not voted either way for the deal :-D

Sorry - but although the APP is free there is no readily available list of resources and prices for them; you must first install the application which includes just the King James bible and a couple of other features.

I wouldn't touch any application that wasn't up front and honest about it's costs.

Frosty COLD from me.

If you look at the top of the page in the link you will see the download tabs for the Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, etc. Click on these then scroll down to the ones with a down-arrow next to them, these are the free add-ons which install into the application.

Thanks for pointing that out James - I had totally missed the 'link bar' on the page you'd posted - very sorry

Check it out folks - there's a lot available for free; although the more popular bible translations like NIV, NKJV, The Message are chargeable there are very many for free including KJV, ASV, Good News and bibles in dozens of languages including Welsh ;-)

Biblegateway.com is only for online reading of Bibles and just 2 commentaries (no Greek/Hebrew dictionaries), and nothing can be downloaded. E-Sword downloads all these to your PC and quickly syncs any verse or word you click on to the related pages in all of the Commentaries and Dictionaries, giving you detailed information. E-Sword also allows you to view one verse in all the different translations at the same time with the "Compare" tab. It has many other features, such as searching for a word or phrase in any of the translations or books, detailed maps and charts, definitions of any Greek or Hebrew word, etc.
