Went to place a Classified Ad on Ebay today and discovered they are FREE til 16th Oct. Classified ads last 28 days. Apologies if this is common knowledge but it was a pleasant surprise to me. First one I've posted so hope it's ok.

I'd best add a word of caution as this doesn't apply to ALL classified ads on Ebay, just the ones in the local services section. Just be sure to follow the link on the original post.

the title needs changing, its free only for advertising local services. its till £35.00 for property And £12.99 for a car - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/adformatfees.html

This techincally isn't a bargain, as by advertising it here, more people will know about and it more people will use it, upto a point where noone will look anywhere but ebay. At that point, they will jack up the price and no longer make it a bargain.

Whats a classified ad? Is it like selling something in your local newspaper? If so is this not the same as buy it now without the postage costs?

please help.

In this case it's intended for someone who has an ongoing trade or service to offer so might be of interest to plumbers, photographers, couriers, picture framers etc. Not really for selling a one-off specific item. There is no option to "Buy" in a classified ad. You can only "contact the seller".

I think my ads take up 50% of the IT catagories now ha ha,
