Excellent and FREE MySupermarket Compare App

Found this amazing app and absolutely wanted to share this to others.

Available for both Apple and Android. You can scan bar codes or search for items, and it will compare all major UK Supermarkets and tell you the price comparison as well as keep you alerted on your favourite items.

When you slowly build up your favourite and regular shopping orders. it can then do an instant compare across the supermarkets, can suggest equivalent products as well.

used many of these apps before all been with poor results, this is the first one which is updated regularly and actual works rather well.

I test any others to find a better app than this for the UK market!

why does it need permissions for...

Device ID & call information
Allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active and the remote number connected by a call ?
#2
Recent reviews on Play Store seem to highlight the number of notification adverts and inabiity to turn them off .... no thanks

You do realise you can stop notifications for any app, right?

Then why is there a reviewer from yesterday who says

"No option to turn off notifications?! I don't want ads for random products on my notifications bar. And I especially appreciate the ability to turn those ads off in the settings menu ... Oh wait ... I can't. Uninstall."

Great app - I use it on my ipad. You can enter through TCB,load your shopping & check best prices, then transfer to supermarket site to process order. Can't say I've been that bothered by notifications except for favourites I've requested. Would definitely recommend it. Phone app is good to check in-store but as I usually forget my specs it's a bit wee for me!

Used this tonight. Very good app. Saves you looking around each item Eg loaf of bread for the best deal. Pick up the one you want, scan and it suggests alternative items either cheaper or ones on offer. Saved me £5 tonight and still got everything I wanted. As an eg I picked up a 500g pack of mince beef. It suggested another better quality pack of 500g mince beef which was 50p cheaper. So actually traded up and saved without having to search the shelves. Plus this saves your shopping list. Hot from me

Have you just arrived from Mars?

I believe the notifications spam was an issue in earlier versions but not an issue anymore.

I certainly dont get adverts when using it.

I've had this for months. Can't say I've had any sort of notifications or any sort of problem.
#17
that is one large permission list on android. Thankfully app ops can turn all these off

Analytics with your device ID as the identifier most likely.

I use their website everytime before I go out to do some shopping and since I have a tesco, sainsbury and asda not too far away from where I live, I can easily separate up which products I need to buy from which supermarket. Great little money saving tool!

Oh I thought it was something new.. It's MySuperList which is a good app but very clunky to use just not got the best layout and navigation and doesn't look like that screenshot. I'm guessing that's iOS, I'm on Android. it does a good job just which it was easier to use!

This would be OK if the supermarket stocks the product don't be misled on prices though shampoo and conditioner was actually cheaper in superdrug although app stated asda was the cheapest. It doesn't compare like for like against all stores you can end up paying more for less product.

I got that screenshot from my Android app. It's there. Where it says cashback at the bottom, click on this should show you the comparison stores. Hope that helps!
