The FA Trophy final has never been on BBC. Historically Sky have had it but this season it is Setanta.

Sounds like they have fewer subscribers than they were hoping...
#11
Interesting deal - well posted!

No, its just their other channels are full at that time
#13
its only the fa trophy final its not like its a huge draw.

and bbc have never shown the match. infact i dont think they have ever shown anything like this.
#14
I think the majority of the UK will be watching the Old firm anyway (if it's at this time).

Edit/ nevermind, it's on at 2pm whereas old firm's at half 12, suppose that's where the clash is anyway
#15
I'm going to see it at Wembley, but heat nonetheless 8-)

But then surely they would whatever else was clashing to the other channel rather than event as big as the FA Trophy?

Maybe majority of Scotland, but the UK

Sorry, I have no interest in Scottish 'Old Firm' matches and don't know anyone who is. In a similar way, I have know interest in the Welsh, French or Dutch leagues.

True as long as you have a short memory...
the FA cup used to be on the BBC and ITV at the same time [and the BBC used to get 3-4 times the viewing figure - they bragged a lot about it.]
it is one of the crown jewels and will be on free-to-view.

The FA Cup and the FA Trophy aren't the same thing...

The F.A. Trophy is NOT a big game.

Setanta News is not available to Sky subscribers who don't have Sultana Sports due to the fact that it's a rip off and it's full of terrible commentators.

Do people understand the difference between the FA Cup and the FA Trophy?
#25
Does this mean it is not on Setanta 1? Bit unfair if it isn't, we're paying a tenner a month and we can't watch it because they decide to change the channel to a non-freeview one...

The F.A. Trophy is NOT a big game.

Yes it is, it is the biggest tournament in non-league football (except for the FA Cup, which non-league teams hope for a good draw to get more money). Non-league football is the home of real football, not some foreign whingers.

That doesn't make it a big game though... The Champions League Final is a big game.

It may big a big game for the non-league clubs and supporters but you can't state it as being a big game!
#27
Man, can't believe setanta is pulling all these games.

Wish the monopolising games rule didn't come in. :(

Sky still the best though, I have Virgin at other house and it's not as good imo.
Plus very bad Commentating even more so than ITV.
#28
Nice, can't complain if it's free
