I'm struggling with this one.
I have the file on my desktop and I'm using xp and outlook 2003. I can open it and save the brazil match but I don't know how to get the others.
I can't find the import option to browse to the ics file.
can anyone advise?

thanks

EDIT. It's ok I've done it.

File
Import and Export
Import an Icalendar or vCalendar file (.vcs)
Next
Browse to file where downloaded to
Highlight
OK

Job done.

Thanks to OP.

great thanks, all synced on my iPhone... simples

Yep, uploaded to Google Calendar and all sync'd to my iPhone. Great stuff - ta!

Now just need to book about 14 half days from work so I can tune in!

I have Outlook 2003 and tried opening it with Outlook and also tried saving the file and trying to import it.
In both cases I got an error message "Cannot open vCalender file".
Has anyone managed to get to work with Outlook 2003?

Update:

I ended up importing to my Google Calendar and then exporting the Google Calendar and then followed CAGNEUK's instructions for Outlook 2003:

File
Import and Export
Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file (.vcs)
Next
Browse to file where downloaded to
Highlight
OK

Thanks for the post!

Alternatively, I sync my iPhone calendar to Google Calendar (don't have Outlook at home) and you can import the .ics file into Google Calendar as well!

Would love to use this on my iPod Touch but dunno how or what to do to get it to work..

Could I use the standard calendar or would I have to sign up for an account to get Google calendar?

no idea

Surely this is only really useful for the group games. It doesn't automatically update when teams get knocked out, etc. Anyone know of an automatically updating calendar, a la Google Calendars?

it does show next stage games (e.,g winner group A vs runner up group B etc). its not that difficult to track once 16 teams have been knocked out.

Heat added for the post. Here's another one, it's getting updated according to the creator of it. See it here: http://blog.artesea.co.uk/2009/12/world-cup-2010-google-calendar.html

Available in google, ical, and xml file types for anyone that is lazy like me. ;)

Come on England!

Or you could use the BBC calendar http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8677077.stm

If you're using Google Calendars etc then subscribe to this URL: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sol/shared/inc/v4/world_cup_2010/calendar/world_cup_2010_calendar.ics

All the knockout rounds should automatically update.
