If you get it right, you get a harder question. If you get it wrong, you get an easier question.
For each answer you get right, we donate 10 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program. '

Simple game! Default is choosing the correct synonym of somthing, however you can choose other subjects to play on.

The vocabulary certainly gets harder, level 49 is my best so far but really struggling to get any higher
#5
Well, that was certainly educational! oO It gets a little hairy around Level 40....X)

10 grains :/. Will they really count the grains?
banned#7
I got them all wrong on purpose. HAHAHA

It costs 40p for 1kg of Tesco Value rice. Apparently a grain weighs about 0.020g...

Don't be stingy - donate a penny and buy them over 1,250 grains - that's 125 questions... ;)

Agreed. I find this rather demeaning toward those who are literally starving. I mean a 'single grain' of rice!

#18
Quite fun and enlightening lol plus good cause - win win!
#19
Quite fun and I often have a go, even though they seem to give somewhat strange meanings for some words.
#20

So, there is an organisation that has a load of rice that they could give to starving people, but they withhold it until enough people answer some simple synonyms online. That is seriously twisted. "Let him starve, unless anon1675 knows what gewgaw means".

That's not how it works.

The sites sponsors pay the site owners money for people visiting the site and answering questions, the money raised is then used to buy rice.

The sites goal is not only to feed the starving, it is also to educate people.

I noticed this message when I hit 800..

"If you can see this text, you may have an ad blocker or software enabled that is preventing us from displaying the sponsored ads that are paying for the grains that you are earning. Please disable the ad blocker or software?"

One to add to the white-list I think!

Been using this, on and off, for years in the school I teach. Every so often, usually near the end of a term, I give the classes some time on the computer to answer theses questions, do some simple math, etc. Good way to build up quite a sizable donation of rice.

Gave up after 4000 grains, but learned few Spanish words, reminded myself of different chemical symbols, did some maths.. Great site, will repeat that again later today! =o)
#35
Got to 2,000 grains but Hubby wants his tea now - anyone else see the irony in that? lol.

Like others I did think some of the definitions were a little suspect but (hopefully) its doing some good so all power to their elbow!

Feed the world....feed the brain! Everyone's a winner!!
