Free 3gigabytes of storage for your Dropbox account.
Dropbox is offering a free 3GB of storage for trying their new desktop Beta programme (1.3.4 or higher) or by using their new Android app.
This seems to be a repeat of the offer that first appeared in February.
I tried it then & the extra storage I gained is a permanent addition to my account. All I did was load up a flash pen with a load of pics & let it uplaod, easy peasy.
All you need to do is use their new picture upload service to upload 3 GB of pics. For every 500MB you uplaod they'll give you 500MB for free.
Like I said, I tried this last month & it was very easy.
This still works!!

skydrive has 100mb file restriction so its a terrible full folder backup solution

I had downloaded the update of the dropbox earlier and enabled autoplay.
I did get 500 MB yesterday when I uploaded 500MB from the SD card

I did it by setting a time-laps camera app to take a photo every couple of seconds, let it build up for a few minutes then left it to upload overnight (on charge and on wifi of course!).
then deleted the photos from the phone and the dropbox in the morning.
If you want an extra 2GB on top then just use this http://www.instantfundas.com/2012/03/get-2gb-additional-space-on-dropbox.html
however the Samsung site now says it's down for maintenance :(

also dropbox auto syncs it's content to PC's, great for download control (like nzb files).
correct me if wrong, but i didn't think there is an android app for skydrive is there? (like Live Mesh for the desktop).

Yes your right but you can compress the folders to 100mb parts and then upload them.I have done this as 25gb is about right for family photos/home movies as a free online backup.1 HD video alone can reach over 3gb.
Long process yes but 3gb is too small imo
