I had this letter in post today from Eaga offering me 4 free energy light bulbs that are worth around £20 according to the letter.I have got an envelope to send off for the offer or I can phone up and quote a code. On the back of the letter it says pass this offer onto friends or family they just need to quote the following when calling RF-CO6VM - the number to call for your light bulbs is 0844 8000 444. To be eligible for these 4 free energy saving light bulbs you need to be claiming at least 1 of the following benefits or credits.

Income Support,Housing Benefit,Council Tax Benefit,Income Based JSA, Attendance Allowance,DLA,Industrial Injuries Disablement ( must include constant attendance allowance ) Pension Benefit,War Disablement Pension( must include mobility supplement or constant attendance allowance ),Pension Credit or where your income is £14,600 or less applies to Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit.

Maximum 4 bulbs per household during period April 2005-March 2008 allow 42 days for delivery, only available to mainland GB residents.
I can't see anything on their site about the offer but if anyone does post up as its easier to fill out a form online than making a call I think.

Alternatively, if you aren't on benefits, Morrisons are doing Philips 100W & 60W equivalent energy saving bulbs for 39p each.

Or you could just go to www.warmfront.co.uk

if you are on any of the benefits the poster has listed you may qualifiy for a grant and get cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, draughtproofing, or central heating, a central heating system is boiler and 5 radiators, any more rads then the person would have to pay for extra rads. my point is that when the survey comes out and looks at what is required you are given these light bulbs at the survey anyway

i know as i work for a contractor that does work for these people

warmfront is also apart of eaga partnership.

I take it your attitude also applies to people on disability allowance too then, would you say they are also scroungers? Some people might be on benefits through no fault of their own, maybe in a car accident as such and as a result of which now can't work.

Such a sweeping statement to make

There are people out there who have serious illnesses and would LOVE to get out of the house and go to work - I, for example, never asked to get cancer now did I? People with attitutes like yours should take a good look in the mirror before making assumptions about other people.
