How to play Angry Birds on PC incase you don't know!

Press and hold the bird by left click of your mouse. You can also zoom out and zoom in while playing the game by touchpad or scroll button on your mouse. It will be better to play Angry Birds by mouse so you can directly zoom out and zoom in into the game. In initial version of game it looks weird but as you keep playing the game you will like it. Angry Birds shows real estate graphics on your large screen, which makes every level easy to play where Angry Birds for smartphones graphics were too small. To view the entire field of the game, zoom in and out to take a look on smartphone but on desktop you don't need to zoom a lot until there is any hard level to play.

The last time I looked people were struggling to get it to work with XP!

I have four XP SP3 machines in the house (two desktops and two laptops) and it only actually works on this one I'm typing on. All the others give texture errors. I've tried all the workarounds I can find on Google with no success. The only advice on the Roxio site is to update your graphics card drivers to the latest version (doh!).

Most of the comments I've seen are along the lines of "I've got a high spec PC that can run Crisis at 1000fps but I can't run this piece of ****!"

The same is true with half the Android phones we have in the house - it only runs on one! I remember hearing it's the most downloaded Android app ever - probably because people are downloading every version they can find to see if they can get one that works!

In summary - silly little game with ridiculous hardware requirements and crap support.

As much as I detest Steve Jobs' walled garden approach, I've got to give credit where it's due regarding ease of use and App compatibility.

I've never heard of Angry Birds failing to work on any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

coming up at £3.49 for me :(

You need to download Intel Appup from PC World or Dixons, install it and then create an account. When you've set up the account (dont bother with the CC stuff) you sign in and a pop up appears that says you've got Angry Birds available to download

If you can't get it to work..right click and run as administrator..make sure your firewall isn't blocking it aswell.

once installed..create an account and your game will be waiting in the 'my apps' tab in the software.

I have a HTC Desire, sadly for another 24 months. Nice looking phone and feels nice. **** to use though. Too sensitive screen. Battery is awful. Android Market lacks decent apps. Lack of updates to manufactures roms.
I won't be going Android again any time soon.

The battery is poor because out of the box everything is constantly syncing, turn down time to sync and turn on data whenever you need it, i get 2 days battery out of mine doing this and I have the HD which has even less battery life

Also the desire range is getting the 2.3/2.4 update in Q2 which is very soon :) no issue for me

Love my HD, best phone i've owned

For those having issues with running Angry Birds, it is also available through 'alternative means'. check f i l e s t u b e. Got it from the alternative source and so far works perfectly on 2 W7 laptop and one Win XP.

I get an error message 'Texture is too large'... My laptop is a few months old running Windows 7, any ideas?
#23
hmmmm works flawlessly on my laptop without any issues. Windows 7 too...

That suggests to me that your graphics card is not up to job i.e. has too little VRAM.

As it's a laptop, it's probably only got on-motherboard processing for graphics. Not really much good for games in most cases :(

Doesn't apply to this game. System specs are Windows 7/XP; 2GHz CPU; 512MB RAM; 3D gfx card with DirectX and at least 128MB VRAM; Sound device; 50MB free HD space.

Some intel graphics chipsets are not supported, particularly ones that don't support OpenGL version 2.0.

DANGER - this game is addictive. Only download if you have a lot of spare time.

It's been listed before.

Have fun!

Works OK on my Dell Win7 laptop, but it has a separate graphics card. Machine gets very hot though when playing this game, so that graphics card must be working overtime.

How? How did you get Angry Birds for free?
#38
The operating system is not currently supported by the Intel App Up center. :(
#39
So I registered a third email address, got the pop up on the registration site saying I got a free angry birds, but now it's not in AppUp.
#40
Thanks, finally got it to install and run on the third computer I tried it on. First was a Vista laptop - no go. Next I tried an older XP laptop - installed but wouldn't run as it didn't like the Intel Extreme graphics chip. Finally I tried a four year old desktop running XP and it works!

That's around 3 hours of my life gone to install a game which is 59p on the iPhone.....
