I have tested this and it works.

Download the App - works on all phones that will run an App.

You call the 08-- number and it connects you using you mobile phone contracted minutes, instead of charging you extra. However, it gets better. If you get stuck in a queue you hit 9*, and you are then disconnected, and the computer queues for you, calling you back when you get to the front of the queue. You don't pay anything for the reconnection.

It's a no brainer.

Sounds brilliant! My last few bills were about £10 more due to calling those pesky 08xx numbers so this is a great find. Voted hot op.

it was on dragons den the other week.
Didn't get investment, mainly because he wanted £150,000 for a 1% share, so he valued his business at £15 million! (made £40,000 profit last year)

Huge free advert, nice bit of guerilla marketing, the 1% thing made sure it got screen time and generated a bit it chatter afterwards
Seems a good thing - but do we know if they record calls in any way? I'm guessing that it runs on some kind of VOIP technology.
Just to think, we normally call 08xx numbers for customer services of some kind, passing our security answers over the phone...

I dont suppose it does the 0844, 0871 etc. numbers
it was on dragons den the other week.

Huge free advert

yep, often think that of Dragons Den
How do they make money out of it?
from the site:
Q. How can you afford to run this service for free?
In addition to the WeQ4U App, we have a solution for Call Centres called WeQ4U 4 Business, that helps all callers get through without waiting, whether they have the App or not.

When you use WeQ4U to skip a call centre queue, we find out which call centres have long queues, so we can help them with our business solution.

So, pressing 9* when you hit the queue helps keep the service free.

will it tell you if the number is not free? i mean it says most 0845?
used it on both landline and mobile and it works fine.
