You're pregnant that's fantastic! Or maybe your baby is already born. We're sure you're overjoyed with your newborn. To celebrate, Rainbowbabies would like to offer you a free baby cap. The colour and size are yours to choose.

The cap can be ordered during your pregnancy up until 3 months after birth. When your baby is born please send us a photo of your baby, and then we will send the free baby cap to you. We will hold onto your placed order until then. We'll take care of the delivery costs! (This applies only for European countries).

LOL @ pimping your baby! Yes i think its a bit odd too, but its probably to stop people just applying for a hundred hats, bit more effort involved if they had to find photos of a hundred babies to get them. :p

This is modern society gone mad. Everyone is paranoid about photos of their kids. Its comments like that, that have made them preventing you taking photos of your own kids at swimming pools, sports day, etc.

voted ice cold, if there was some liquid nitrogen around I would splash a bit of that on too.

So to save yourself £3 you would rather have a picture of your little one with a company that can do as they please? even use in advertising......................... I don't think £3 is really worth it do you?

Just so as you know I have no problem with photos at sports days or any other times that my children are having fun, this though seems dubious.

Unless you tick some kind of disclaimer which gives the site the rights to your photo, they cannot use it for anything, or reproduce it anywhere else, as the person who took the photo is the owner of it. They won't risk prosecution. Also, as a baby clothes supplier, do you REALLY think they would risk their reputations by doing anything with the photos. I think it seems pretty clear that they are asking for a pic of your baby so that everyone and his auntie doesnt just apply, like some people on here do, for the weirdest of things.

Everything else they do seems to be printing t-shirts etc, so presumably they will take your picture and mock up baby products which they will then send you pics of in an email campaign that you will think are so cute you won'r resist and will therefore give them more business???
#16
just send an image ripped from google images, thats what i intend to use
#17
ordered some then read the last bit of info they give u,,,,dotn think i will be getting mine,,,not sending a photo in as i have no idea what they will do with it,,,,cte hats tho

"I fully understand your concern – as also you are not the only one concerned about this.
As we are investing in a hopefull and satisfying future relationship, we need some confirmation of your being a parent with a young child. After we have activated your order for the babycap – the digital image will never be used again for any other reason.

If you wish to send us any other form of confirmation that you are parent of child – for us no problem.
• midwife notice
• birthcard

And we ask name and birthdate again only for our communcation with you. When we send a promotion mail to you we wil do this regarding the age of your child. When his or her first birthday is near we will mail you an offer like :

‘Dear Mrs XXXXX, In 2 weeks your son XXXXX will have his first birthday and we offer you discount on a unique printed T-shirt.’

I hope I have taken away your concern. And and wish you lots of beautiful moments with your child.

Whether this satisfies peoples concerns is questionable but at least they had the decency to reply.

Regards

Richard.

Dudes, stop being so paranoid, they are a cute little company that deal in baby hats! they are not a splinter cell terrorist group that is giving away free plutonium! anyway, all babies look pretty much the same anyway, and i applied for my hat and mines not even due for another 3 weeks so cant provide a photo.

Hallo Hotdeal visitors,

I followed my webstats to hotukdeals and read about our Free babycap deal. Rainbowbabies is my company together with my wife. We started in sleepingroom closet and now work with 18 parttime moms in an office. Just trying to do the right thing - running a company and survive.

The cap deal is to give a low-level introduction to our site (how to order) and also with our product quality. Further we would indeed make a few offers directed to you and your child.
Somewhere along the line of marketing we 'thought' a picture would do - to confirm that we have genuine parents ordering a cap for their baby.

So I read here the worries.... - this was never the intention.
Furthermore - this deal is VERY prone to fraud. After now maybe 4 months of babycap deal - 8 out of 10 are fraudulant .... google pics/10hats on 10 adress etc.

So - I ask you openly : what could we do to keep this deal alive?
What kind of information would you be willing to share with us - that confirms you are a parent of young child?
We would like name and birthdate - so our offers (4x in 1st year) are timed with your possible need.

Hope for your help and tips.
Thanks in advance.

Kind regards.

Bart
Co-owner of Rainbowbabies
