I would be interested in this as i fear i might become diabetic and it might give me a kick up the backside to change my lifestyle...but don't want to take the offer up as someone else might really need one.

Heat added though!

Most of us will be diabetic soon with the amount of sugar that is going in our foods!! White bread for example is full of it, we dont realise just how much we are consuming in our every day foods!!

It sickens me that people actually order these just because there free when actual diabetic people need them.

Maybe people who don't actually know if they got it may try it? I don't get how that's bad? Like you wouldn't try and get it if you could think it helps you or someone in your family. Don't be so self obsessed.

This freebie isn't for peeps who think they 'might get' diabetes.

It's for those already diagnosed with it serious enough to be on insulin.
They NEED this to stay healthy and not lose their sight or fall into a coma. Leave this for them.

For the rest of us, there's FREE testing available at GP surgeries and pharmacies, eg:

Read woodface7's post above, that clarified it a bit better? me self obsessed?, I haven't ordered one, try again.

It says "first 1000 insulin users" - the form allows you to select "diet only" etc... if that affects it or not I dont know.

I would of ordered it, as diabetes in my family seems Hereditary. However, the application requires me to say what type I have, and I'm not fibbing to gain something which others will need.

It makes you sick that people would actually get some to sell on though. Those are the people that deserve to have Diabetes.

Just been diagnosed with Diabetes. This is great, and will help me regulate my sugar levels at home. Having so many to choose from, this takes the nightmare away from maybe making the wrong choice.
Thank you so much for helping those who are new to this condition.

Sorry to hear that you have been recently diagnosed. My brother is diabetic (and has been since he was young) and it hardly affects his life at all now. Taking his insulin injections doesn't hurt, he is good at working out how much to take, eats healthily and regularly and leads a full and great life. It doesn't have to be as scary as you first think, and although it can take a while to work out the regime which suits you and your body, with a few hypos and blips along the way, it's not as bad as you think and you sort of get used to it and all the tests and injections become habitual and part of general life pretty quickly and easily.
My brother and us, as a loving family!, got some great information from DiabetesUK, so have a look at their website and you can ask for some helpful fliers as well to read yourself and also to give to family and friends as it explains things, much easier than having to explain it 10x over to each person.

I replied to your invitation to apply for a free Contour meter and was emailed back to say I had been successful and a free unit would be posted to me. This was more than a month ago but I still have not received one! Please send me the unit by return.
