There rarely is nowadays.

The last few screenings I went to in Bournemouth were half-empty due to people rushing straight online to get their tickets, maxing out the allocation, but not bothering to turn up because they don't really care and it didn't cost them anything.

It's lose-lose. People that really care about film get screwed because there are no tickets available and the cinema gets screwed because there's no punters to buy food and drink.

That's the reason why a number of cinemas have dropped out of the free screenings.

I would urge people who aren't sure about whether they want to go or not to not book tickets. And if you decide you don't want to go after booking, let SeeFilmFirst (or whoever is running the screening) know so they can make your tickets available to someone else. That's the only way these free screenings can continue.

Saw this at Leeds Showcase on Tuesday, and the Cinema was about a quarter full. This was also the first screening I've been to where there was an extra member of staff giving out publicity cards after the film.

what a waste-of-a-time movie.
