To create an iTunes App Store account without a credit card please follow the steps below. In order to create an account without a credit card, you must make sure you are in the App Store, not the iTunes Store.

iPhone, iTunes 9, iPod touch, iTunes Store, iPad

If you try to create an account through the iTunes site and through the launcher you need to add a credit card.
Thanks to lambchop uk for the above link for Sundays downloads - seems to have gone fine. I tried the link given in the paper on Saturday ( and all I got was a page of chargeable tracks by a group called "Spring" !!! anybody got a better link?
