Its known that starbucks will give you used coffee grounds for free if you ask for them, but my local one at Glasgow Fort now has them sitting in a basket with a sign saying help yourself! Brill

Hope anyone else interested benefits from this, ideal for roses, composting, and lawns!

didn't know it was good for the garden, thanks

Souynds like a good idea but i'm a little to shy to go in asking for this!
#4
From what I have read the grounds are better used for acid loving plants
#5
nice find i have a wormmery and the worms like this so i will have to try and get some thanks

This is also good for deterring certain garden pests when sprinkled on the ground.

As mentioned can be harmful to some non acid loving plants so make sure you do your research.

I am always happy to give away my excess for free too. They make even better fertilizer than the Starbucks crap. X)

Don't know about the fertilizer side of it, we use it to keep cats off the garden.

Don't leave it too long in the packet before you get round to spreading it though, it goes pretty rank and gets full of tiny flies.

i asked for some of this in Durham ages ago - and got a huge box full, weighed a ton and was really tough to carry back to the car....when i got the box open it was full of the individual plastic milk pots, and various other bits of rubbish - plastic etc, all through the coffee grounds, ended up throwing the whole lot out there was just to much rubbish in there to fish it all out/put in the ground.
if you can get decent grounds they're great for keeping the slugs away

This is illegal unless you are an authorised waste contractor of the correct category and do the correct paperwork. The law is an ass hole.

I would only use Starbucks coffee as fertilizer anyway lol
