It would be interesting to find out how this transalated version compares to the book written in the original tongue.

It is available free to non-Muslims for whatever reason. Would existing Muslims get the same book but have to pay for it, or would they read a different version?

hot freebie and very useful to non muslims.

What a brilliant freebie!!! I voted hot, hot ,hot. Religion is a sensitive subject and so would be good to keep some of the comments on here to yourselves. If its not you're cup of tea that why bother writing anything. Same goes for any posts for a free bible, Torah etc............. Respect peoples religions!

Thank you :) Personally I am a Christian, (shocking the flaming the free Bible was getting!) but I have read up on a lot of other faiths, religions, beliefs. In my limited experience and knowledge, I would say that all roads lead to the same path. It is just up to the individual to find what resonates in their heart the most. That being the case, then their religion, belief, faith is right for them. When I have been studying my faith,or belief it is amazing how many times it is intrinsically linked with other beliefs. Thus leading me to the conclusion that God only wants you to find him, discover him,and get to know him. There have been many of our brothers and sisters who have lived before us,and their literature and music and art is hear to help us,teach us,so whatever you use is good in my book. I think I will order this,as I would like to read it,study it,and I have always thought about getting one,but just never got round to it...
For people who have no interest or belief in any religion, may I suggest reading some Rumi or Hafiz. Neither of who are Christian, but when you know God,you see Him and His work,His love in many aspects of our life...
It is difficult for me when I hear that people have no belief. But we are all born equal and are equal in the eyes of God. Maybe some people don't need it,don't believe it,or think that having a "hope" that there is something more to all this than meets the eye is pointless, but personally I think that not having would be pointless? But I fully respect everyone for what they think and believe...
For anyone curious, and in their minds and hearts convinced that there is "nothing" may I suggest that you take a holiday away from your mundane life and fast and meditate. If you are truly wanting to know if there is something else,I can guarantee it that if you break free from the world and seek the "higher power/consciousness/God" then your heart and mind will be opened and you will not recognize the person that you thought you were before,in my humble, honest opinion :)

I imagine it is specified free to non muslims as I expect it's an English translation version, and has been produced specially to freely donate so more people can read and learn.

I am guessing that muslims would learn and read the arabic version which I am sure they can also probably get free but from their local mosque with no need to get one from the internet.

The Koran never gets changed in meaning. Diffrent translations- but It will always be the same meaning and same version.

"...Nevertheless, the Qur’an has been translated into most African, Asian and European languages.[66] The first translator of the Qur’an was Salman the Persian, who translated Fatihah into Persian during the 7th century.[67] .

In 1936, translations in 102 languages were known.[66]

Robert of Ketton was the first person to translate the Qur’an into a Western language, Latin, in 1143.[68"

"Muslims believe the Qur’an to be the book of divine guidance and direction for mankind and consider the text in its original Arabic to be the literal word of God,[38] revealed to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel over a period of twenty-three years[6][7] and view the Qur’an as God's final revelation to humanity.[39][6] The importance of the Qur’an for Muslims and Islam is tantamount to the importance of Jesus Christ for Christians and Christianity."

I find that highly unlikely. I don't want to get into a debate here, but for example if you search 'what is wrong with the NIV version of the bible you will find some verses are just plain missing. Not changed, but missing, others will water down the Diety of Jesus himself, pretty important stuff for a Christian.

The KJ version of the bible was translated by scholars in a strict manner from Hebrew & Greek. Whereas some other versions of the bible have been translated by 'unsaved' men, again pretty important to a man or woman believing they are reading the Word of God.

I just was wondering if the same applied to the Koran.

I think you already know the answer to this but nice try ;-)

Thanks. I have four different versions of the Koran (Quran) but have only read the Abdallah Yousuf Ali one in full. Hopefully this is another translation. I have studied the Koran for over fifteen years, and though it is a difficult book to read, it does give us an insight into the Islamic religion. The Marmaduke Pickthall version of the Koran is probably the easiest read for non-Arabic readers.

Nice one, I usually write it as Quran.
