22:30 Have a flutter in the onboard casino

23:00 The Ship sets sail for Newcastle, dance the night away with our house band in the Columbus lounge, relax in the Admiral pub or head to the Compass disco – There really is something for everyone, so you choose what do to, and when.

When it’s time for sleep, your comfortable cabin awaits, ready when you are.

Is this really 3 days to extract money from you then 90mins at the destination?

Or is there anyway to extend the trip when you get there?
[Holiday Pirates]#15
if you can find out for sure that there is a kettle in the room you could take a few pot noodles, failing that you are looking at about £200 if not more for meals coz it aint like you can pop of for a MacDonalds!

Great deal if your loaded lol
#16
Not for me - two days on a boat (with two young kiddies) for an hour in Sweden.

If it was a couple of days there I'd say yes.

Just booked for 4 (including 2 young kids) will be something different. There's kids club, swimming pool and cinema - even paying for the food it's still cheaper than staying in some hotels across the UK and paying for food there - ok you will only get to spend 90 mins in Norway but what do you want for free? Fantastic find many thanks.

I did one of these at easter. Was an excellent trip. My tip would be to pre-book your food, and to go for the seven seas buffet. It's all you can eat... and lovely food to boot.

It's a ball pool, not swimming pool.

Otherwise I'd be joining you!

Thats exactly what it is!
The food/drink/everything else will cost a small fortune.
Having said that, its not a bad deal if you go into it with your eyes open!;-)

thanks for this i've just booked for the 17th june,
never been on a cruise so its something different.

Check the itinery... it says it has a pool and a sauna.

p.s. booked for the 17th, it doesn't seem to matter if you fill a cabin or not. You could book a 4 birth one now for yourself and amend the booking online (for free) to add friends later if they want to join you.

It's more a ferry than a cruise. I've booked for me and 7 others and dont expect it to be too good (deck 2 inside cabin = near engine = lotsa noise). But since im going with ppl shouldnt be too bad, going to pack suitcases of food lol.

According to another thread at MSE, tends to be for norwegian booze cruisers (high tax in norway means it is very cheap for them).

Just a warning but it's free so cant expect too much.

It does have a swimming pool and sauna

swimming pool & sauna
http://www.dfds.co.uk/mediafiles/DFDS_Seaways/Photos/Ships/Pearl_of_Scandinavia/Pool_Sauna_and_Fitness/PL_child012_CM_4.jpgTake a swim and let the tensions float away. Our swimming pool is great for relaxing or just watch the kids enjoying themselves splashing in the water having a great time.

Visit our sauna, the perfect place to sit back and relax. Why not relieve your skin of all of it's impurities, it is good for you. This will make you feel relaxed and invigorated.

It is the ideal place to relax after a long swim and will bound to make you want to head up to the bar for a cold Beverage.

The swimming pool and Sauna is only available on m.s.Queen of Scandinavia.

oh btw does anyone know if the entertainment like cinema, pool and sauna cost anything?

sovarn- my bf emailed them to ask, and they replied that the pool (swimming one- not ball pool) and sauna is free- so I'm assuming that other entertainment things are too. Some ppl are paying upto £200 for the commodore rooms and on other threads- ppl just recommend bringing lots of food with them so they don't have to pay for food, so I guess this means the entertainment stuff should be free to. Hope this is helpful, and enjoy your trip!
#31
I think you have to pay for the cinema as I read somewhere that you could purchase tickets. I got the impression the rest of it was free.
#32
I went on this exact ferry in April cost me £25. It was okay, but I did not see any pool.. or sauna....The cinema is a small room with a tv and costs about £7 each... the rooms are very small and I hardly slept due to rough crossing!!!

The entertainment was dire some women resembling the cheeky girls dancing about for a few minutes (was good comedy value though)... and there is not much to do apart from drink alcohol. I wouldnt really recommend this for kids, as they will be bored!! We played cards for hours and hours.
Drinks are about £5 a pint, and cocktails £8...food is very expensive also, £7 for a panini!! So book the buffet!

I went with 12 other 25 year olds, and we just sat and drunk alcohol for 3 days!!! The, 'casino' is three tables in the corner of the bar.... and the other two bars and just an extension of the main bar!!

*** also, please be aware......... when you arrive in Norway, we did at about midnight, you have to get off the boat, queue for an hour in customs and then get back on the boat....due to some random customs rule..... not great if your tired.. or have small kids!!! Also the next day, you have to be off the boat by 10am.... or you cannot get off at all !!!!!!!!****

Norway its self was lovely, we went up the mountain on the train and there is some lovely views... (train cost about £8) Not much else to do apart from that, alcohol in Norway was £8 a pint!
Be aware... I had a great laugh, and glad I went... but spent alot more than I thought I would!!!!

The link does not work can anyone help? Or has the offer expired? Thanks

Works for me.

It says the page you have requested is not found.
#37
is there anything to stop you from placing two bookings for consequitive weeks?

therefore you could be heading out on a Sunday arriving on the Monday - nipping off for a week around Sweden, then coming back a week later for your prebooked return??

im guessing they might cancel your booking when you don't turn up in Newcastle the following week but could be worth a go?!!?
#38
If anybody does go on this cruise this sunday will they post their experience please. Me and my BF are due to go next Sunday and he isn't too keen after some of the reports on MSE about it. Thanx!
#39
Expired, well you get a 404
