If you have an iPhone and Unlimited data, You must have been in a situation where you wished you can use the 3G data on the Laptop.

All this time, you had to pay about 5£ a month or more for 500MB/10£ for 1.5GB or 15£ for 3GB of tethering

Now there's a app that can do it.. It may get pulled as its a trick app that masked itself as a torch app.

The app is called -Handy Light

Download and follow the following instructions.

:

Set up an ad hoc Wi-Fi network on your computer (network name and password requirement are not important).
Connect to the Wi-Fi network you just created on your iPhone through the Settings/Wi-Fi menu.
Tap on the blue arrow to the right of the selected Wi-Fi network, click Static in the IP Address menu and enter the following IP address and chuckle at its geek quotient: 13.37.13.37
Next, enter 255.255.255.0 in the Subnet Mask field.
Back out of the Settings menu to ensure these settings are saved (though hitting the Home button right away shouldn’t change them).
Go to your Mac or PC and change the network settings to use the SOCKS Proxy and enter 13.37.13.37 as the Socks Proxy Server address and 1337 as the port. On our Mac laptop, this is what the resulting screen looks like:
Be sure to apply/save these settings.
Go back to your iPhone and open the Handy Light app and tap the flashlight colors at the bottom in the following sequence: blue, yellow, red. Then tap the top right corner of the screen and the color should change to purple. Your iPhone is now capable of sharing its internet connection with the computer you set up.
Leave the app open and go to your computer and start browsing. As the video describes, we found that it took a few seconds for the connection to kick in but then it worked like a charm. Though many variables affect network speed tests, a quick test using Speedtest.net yielded 3.92 Mb/s down and 0.38 Mb/s up while tethered to our iPhone 4 through Handy Light.

Dont worry it's easy to do via bluetooth if u have itunes installed on your pc as there are no settings to change!
Beware of charges by Vodaphone for example on a 35quid/month package - the 500Mb/month roaming WAP limit is not part of this as the iphone and Vodaphone know you are tethering so you will be charged 5 quid as soon as you tether and 5 quid/500Mb thereafter.Tethering is charged separately from the 1GB of mobile internet use that you get as part of your pay monthly price plan. As soon as you tether your laptop or netbook to the internet, you'll pay £5 for 500MB that lasts for 30 days. Use more than 500MB in that time and you'll pay £5 for each extra 500MB.

FROM VODAPHONE HELP PAGES
Access via the phone packs-
If you think you'll regularly use more than 500MB a month while tethering with your iPhone, get one of our great value Access via the phone packs: £10 a month for 1.5GB £15 a month for 3GB.

These packs aren't for making calls over the internet or sharing data files - and if you go over your limit, you'll pay £5 for each extra 500MB. To add an Access via the phone pack to your pay monthly price plan, call 191 from your iPhone - or visit your nearest Vodafone store.

What can't work out is whether its cheaper to surf alot using Vodaphone (see above) or to go for a separate dongle where in all cased you pay through the nose (as much as 20 quid per Gb) for any overuse. Vodaphone seem to be 10 quid per Gb overuse using the phone contract
