Free Deezer on Orange Swappables

adamju592adamju592

Just discovered last week that as an Orange mobile phone customer on a panther contract you are entitled to two free 'swappables' one of which is free access to unlimited music on your phone via the Deezer app. I was previously paying £15 pcm for unlimited access to spotify and must say I find Deezer has as good as if not a better selection of music. Just a heads up for anyone who may not be aware of this!!!

Quite honestly the only decent swappable. It has it's own app which works flawlessly, unlike the Sky Sports 'link' which almost never works, and when on the rare occasion it does the image quality is shocking and isn't even full screen. Its almost a con they offer it as a bonus to your contract in my opinion

Thanks for this. I tried following the instructions here http://support.deezer.com/customer/portal/articles/229040-how-can-i-activate-my-deezer-orange-subscription-from-the-deezer-com-website- which asks you to insert your mobile phone number to authenticate your Orange offer. You should then receive a text message with a unique code to activate your music service but I am getting an error, "An error occurred. Please try again later." I have contacted Deezer customer service about this and will update when I hear anything.

By all accounts if you go through the swappables page to Deezer and download through the link there it registers properly with Orange and doesnt go towards your allowance. However just downloading the Deezer app and entering your Orange credentials means it does count towards your allowance. At least this is what Orange told me was a problem they has encountered, so take that how you will.

I can only go by what they told me but my allowance is only 1GB and I use Deezer most mornings on my 30 min walk to work, and back, as well as having no wifi at work so reasonable use and I haven't been chanrged for any usage yet. Plus they could tell me I had downloaded 'correctly' through the Orange swappables page so they must be able to tell the difference when it hasn't been.....All conjecture I grant you :)

This is my swapable and I love it. I sync all my music to offline so it's ready to listen to whenever :-)

I download all my music by wifi then go off line and listen to it anywhere that way doesn't come off data:)

Deezer should not use your data, however there was an issue where it did and orange were reimbursing the data costs but should be resolved now.... It shouldmnotnuse any data allowances as the swappable accounts for the data usage.

Been trying for over an hour and just found out it is only for 18 and 24 month contracts. Boo you orange

Sometimes the data doesn't track properly and it comes out of your allowance, but they give you a refund if you go over your data allowance. Just be sure to check your bill!

I'm only entitled to 1 freebie. Depends on how much your contract is.

Useful as a freebie but find they have a lot of tracks missing. If it wasn't free wouldn't pay for it. Re. data I queried this but after other incorrect advice from Orange CS I tend to try and sync playlist and use offline. I wouldn't trust what Orange customer service tell you on the phone - they don't seem to have a clue and will just make it up 90% the time.

It's not free, as you have to be on an Orange contract.

I have an iPhone on Orange, and get 1 swappable. I started with the TV one, but it didn't work very well and didn't include BBC, and so was in the chocolate fireguard category. I've swapped it to Deezer and haven't listened to anything on it; I did select an album but had a problem when I tried to listen.

The other swappable which works on an iPhone is Russel Gran't astrology.

I'd really like a sat nav app, but the one they offer is only for Android.
