Wish they'd do the same in my neck of the woods. Been many a kebab passed over my teeth since I was last at a dentist

Hang on,I visit my NHS dentist every 6 months and pay the NHS fees which go back in the taxation pot. Why should someone who has not done this be entitled to a freebie.

Covers me but I go 1-2 times a year (much to my dismay). Will let people know at the pub though.

It is rather unfair. Free dental checkups for all I say, paid for through general taxation. We should reward people who go regularly, not those who don't go. This is a bit like paying over-weight people to lose weight, whereas people who are not overweight get nothing.

Have to agree. Anything is better than the current situation whereby the only people who have to pay are those that pay tax! :?

since April '06 NHS dentistry in England & Wales is one of the worst systems in europe, especially for those patients who require more work...
good deal though, heat added.

Why, when I read the headline of this thread, did I think of a geezer in a white coat hurling a brick on the end of a piece of string through a window?:w00t:

Sounds as good as the free stop smoking service. Wish that the NHS would reward healthy people too!
