FREE Directory Enquiries for people with a disability....
I know this is not for everyone, however, it's a service not many people know about...
I'm dyslexic and have been using it for years, instead of phoning 118 etc call 195 and get the number/get put through to as many numbers as you like!!
Anybody who might find using a phonebook difficult (dyslexic people, people with ME, memory loss etc etc) can get this service, all you do is call 195 and ask for a form to be sent to you and get it signed by your GP, send it away and then you get a unique passcode so everytime you call 195 you quote it with you name and get any number for FREE!
Text phone users can call 0800 838 363

I cant, seeing that a form has to be signed by a GP. Maybe there are a few corruptible GPs, but I doubt many folk will abuse this at all
Heat added.
Can be used from any landline phone regardless of whether you subscribe to BT or not.
I think all cell suppliers, T-Mobile, Orange, etc have an obligation - under the DDA - to supply a similar service.
I have arthritis in my hands (and everywhere else) so can't handle heavy telephone directory. I've found 195 invaluable for years.
Cable and wireless customers have this service aswell, those looking to join can do so by ringing 195 and they can put you through to registration however it must be between 9 and 5pm.
