    Thanks for the pointer.

Just a word of warning, here are a few costs

£150 in fuel and tolls (140 miles from home to Dover) at about 42MPG

    £60-£80 cheap ferry

£40 ish cheap hotel per night

Food and drink in Disney can set you back £25 each easily a day.

    Parking about £9 a day

£40 for AA European cover, possibly cheaper with other companies

Exchange rate is 1.175 € to £, not great, but better than it has been for a while

You have to allow upto 4hrs from calais to Dover with a stop. With 7-8 hrs driving to return to Calais, to make the most of one day of free tickets, I'd stay 2 nights so you get a full day. But seeing as you have spent a fair bit getting there it may be worth an extra day or two in the parks.

It's not a cheap day out!!

Hmm how is it a family treat when you only get 2 adult tickets?

Would be interested to hear how any families might be making use of this without too much extra expense? I'm thinking with travel it's still going to be too expensive, you can't really do it in a day with kids
  3. owens101's avatar
ok so if i book 2 tickets under my name and then book another 2 using my parents sky account under my husbands name would we be ok taking the kids. Or is it free adults only?

    but on the plus side:

    2. As a Sky customer, you are entitled to book up to two free adult 1-Day / 2 Parks dated tickets to access Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park. Between 200 and 5,000 tickets are available for Park entry each day from 1 April to 31 October 2012 (inclusive) as part of this promotion and will be allocated to Sky customers on a first come first served basis (average 2,701 per day, total tickets available 578,200). Adult tickets are for those 12 years old and over though for the purposes of this promotion the ticket voucher provided is redeemable for a children’s ticket (aged 3-11) also. Children 2 and under do not require a ticket to enter the Parks. The Sky customer may need to present official photo ID as proof of date of birth.

Your tickets are just the email that you got with the link on it, is that right? We have received both of the e-confirmations (the bit where we had to click the link and enter the code) even though I'm sure I used my own address on both bookings. So fingers crossed that that's the last stage...I don't think they could cancel after issuing the tickets...hopefully!!

The 'tickets' are the email that is entitled 'your disney voucher' and yes you had to click the link and enter your booking ref to confirm receipt of them. Then I assume you print the voucher and exchange it for your tickets at the park - haven't read it through entirely as i've been too busy chasing the other tickets. To answer your question - no I don't think they would cancel after they've sent you these. If you've had one for both orders personally I think you'll be fine.

Can I buy a ticket for my 4 year old son?Is the ticket for one day too?If you get the tickets - are your restricted to staying in one of the recommended hotels or any other tie-ins?Im thinking of going in april

If you just do the free ticket deal, you'll get 2 people in for one day to both parks for one day. You can drive there and back in a day (it's under 3 hours from Calais - makes for a long day though) if you want to just do that and nothing else. You'd have to buy a ticket for your son.
If you decide to stay in a hotel, you can book any hotel you want (try Campanile or Etap for something cheap/Travelodge-like) but you then have to pay to park at Disney for the day - about £20 I believe (but check that). Or you can take a package either through the Sky deal or totally independantly which includes hotel (Disney or other) + park. If you stay in a Disney hotel, you normally get the day either side as entry to the park anyway, which makes the Sky free day pretty worthless. It's really best if you just want a single day in Disney and make your own accommodation and travel arrangements.

Visited with the tickets last Sunday so just updating. Tickets can be collected from any of the ticket booths at the entrance to the park. We arrived just after 10 and were in the park within 5 mins and there were 7 of us collecting. We were all asked for photo ID. Driving license or passport was acceptable. Main park was open until 11pm (sat) with the main parade at 7pm and the 20th anniversary show at both 10 and 11pm. Disney studios was open until 8pm. Keep hold of your ticket as although they give you a stamp if you leave the main park you'll still need your ticket to access the studios. It also acts as your fast pass which allows you to virtually queue for a ride if it's busy. Remember once you've requested one fast pass ticket you can't ask for another until it expires. Eg if it's 11am and the fast past time is 5pm, if u request a ticket u won't be able to get another one until after 5.30. Try to get times no more than an hr or so ahead. Also fast passes are limited so if theres a ride you really dont want to miss get a fast past asap as u may not be able to get one later in the day.

travelling by coach for a day trip is £65 per person.

in the FAQ it states ...........As a Sky TV customer you are entitled to book up to two free adult 1-Day / 2 Parks dated tickets to access Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park. One booking per Sky household.

So I'm wondering do children under 7 go free? as it states in the 20th anniversary brochure

The ticket lasts 1 day. So you will need to pay for other days at the parks. Euro Disney whilst better upkept and newer than FL and CA sucks with less rides and longer lines.A freebie is a freebie though.

Depends on your car. It is an easy drive - about 3 hours once you are in France and not many tolls. We stayed in Davy Crocketts Lodges - basic but perfect if you have a car.

Disney have a flash sale on currently with 50% off

Think it's not specific to Sky Movies customers this time but all Sky customers. Have you given it a shot?

Nice post OP, thank you - I've booked mine. Heat for you.
