sorted byJust a word of warning, here are a few costs
£150 in fuel and tolls (140 miles from home to Dover) at about 42MPG
£60-£80 cheap ferry
£40 ish cheap hotel per night
Food and drink in Disney can set you back £25 each easily a day.
Parking about £9 a day
£40 for AA European cover, possibly cheaper with other companies
Exchange rate is 1.175 € to £, not great, but better than it has been for a while
You have to allow upto 4hrs from calais to Dover with a stop. With 7-8 hrs driving to return to Calais, to make the most of one day of free tickets, I'd stay 2 nights so you get a full day. But seeing as you have spent a fair bit getting there it may be worth an extra day or two in the parks.
It's not a cheap day out!!
Would be interested to hear how any families might be making use of this without too much extra expense? I'm thinking with travel it's still going to be too expensive, you can't really do it in a day with kids
2. As a Sky customer, you are entitled to book up to two free adult 1-Day / 2 Parks dated tickets to access Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park. Between 200 and 5,000 tickets are available for Park entry each day from 1 April to 31 October 2012 (inclusive) as part of this promotion and will be allocated to Sky customers on a first come first served basis (average 2,701 per day, total tickets available 578,200). Adult tickets are for those 12 years old and over though for the purposes of this promotion the ticket voucher provided is redeemable for a children’s ticket (aged 3-11) also. Children 2 and under do not require a ticket to enter the Parks. The Sky customer may need to present official photo ID as proof of date of birth.
Booked easy jet flight in the end £102 for us both and Thomas cook explorer hotel £72
And soooo excited
I've not got my email but didn't book till the 10th xx
The 'tickets' are the email that is entitled 'your disney voucher' and yes you had to click the link and enter your booking ref to confirm receipt of them. Then I assume you print the voucher and exchange it for your tickets at the park - haven't read it through entirely as i've been too busy chasing the other tickets. To answer your question - no I don't think they would cancel after they've sent you these. If you've had one for both orders personally I think you'll be fine.
If you just do the free ticket deal, you'll get 2 people in for one day to both parks for one day. You can drive there and back in a day (it's under 3 hours from Calais - makes for a long day though) if you want to just do that and nothing else. You'd have to buy a ticket for your son.
If you decide to stay in a hotel, you can book any hotel you want (try Campanile or Etap for something cheap/Travelodge-like) but you then have to pay to park at Disney for the day - about £20 I believe (but check that). Or you can take a package either through the Sky deal or totally independantly which includes hotel (Disney or other) + park. If you stay in a Disney hotel, you normally get the day either side as entry to the park anyway, which makes the Sky free day pretty worthless. It's really best if you just want a single day in Disney and make your own accommodation and travel arrangements.

So I'm wondering do children under 7 go free? as it states in the 20th anniversary brochure

It doesn't ....it just means that whoever's details you enter must bring photo ID that matches the details you enter when booking the tickets.

Glad to be able to help someone out - feel that it's what this site is all about
Brilliant! Many thanks indeed. Hope to repay the favour sometime
Depends on your car. It is an easy drive - about 3 hours once you are in France and not many tolls. We stayed in Davy Crocketts Lodges - basic but perfect if you have a car.
Disney have a flash sale on currently with 50% off
Think it's not specific to Sky Movies customers this time but all Sky customers. Have you given it a shot?
Nice post OP, thank you - I've booked mine. Heat for you.
