Someone reported my friend for having 3 adult dogs without microchips.

When the dog warden came round to his house, instead of issuing a fine or notice like she's supposed to, she microchipped all 3 adult dogs for free.

This isn't advertised anywhere I've found.
No limits that I know of; on dogs ages, not being vaccinated, if you're a breeder, etc.
This is available to everyone in Rotherham; my friend isn't elderly, disabled, unemployed or on benefits.

This is fantastic if you've got dogs that still haven't been microchipped and you can't be bothered to take to the vet.

Rotherham Dog Warden phone number - 01709 33 60 03

I'm afraid I can't answer questions on this as I don't have any more info but I'm sure if you want to book the dog warden phone number can help.

Thank you

I hope you are not a dog owner

I would think the dog warden acted on her discretion and very much doubt that she would microchip your dog at home on request. Total abuse of the goodwill that was shown to your friend.

I believe this isn't a one off, they do this for everyone in Rotherham and she's coming back when he breeds them again.

I'm not and that was the reason given when the warden asked why they weren't chipped.
