Don't forget Royal Mail parcel prices are significantly increasing on April 2nd,so don't get caught out.

There are also new dimensions to consider, some parcels that previously cost 2,20 to post 2nd class COULD now cost £5.20 if it's classed as a Medium sized parcel and is not within the exemption size of up to 16x16x16cm

Link to order a free template is in post 3,you don't need to be a business, just create a business name for yourself at your home address etc.

Bring on the Ebay haters ;-)

I forgot to thank MSE this week for the heads up again :-)

What is it?
From Friday 29 March until Monday1 April 2013 (local UK time), eBay.co.uk registered Private Sellers (subject to the below mentioned seller restrictions) who list up to 100 listing(s) (with a starting price of £1 or more) in an eligible category using the Auction-style format on eBay.co.uk, will not pay an Insertion Fee per listing.

Feature fees will still apply. The number of listings eligible under this promotion is limited to a maximum of 100 listings for sellers without listing restrictions or less where seller restrictions apply.

Items listed using professional tools, such as (but not limited to), Turbo Lister and Selling Manager Pro, are excluded. Items will only be eligible for this promotion if they are listed with the Quick Sell or Advanced Sell (Sell Your Item) forms, the new Quick Listing Tool or the eBay iPhone, eBay iPad, eBay Android, eBay Blackberry and eBay Windows Phone applications.

To take part in this promotion, sellers must be registered as resident in the UK.

Please refer to "What's Excluded?" for more details.

It's a joke isn't it,also on that free template you can order,it doesn't show the size exclusions,it's in small print on the pdf at Royal Mails site.So some people won't even realise there are exceptions for cube sizes as below, as it's in tiny writing online and not even mentioned on the template.

Exceptions apply. The following items are also priced as Small Parcels. Parcels that measure up to: Length: 16cm, Width: 16cm, Depth: 16cm.
Also roll or cylinder shaped parcels that measure up to Length: 45cm, Diameter: 8cm.

I'm just clearing out things I don't want. things like books and other things are not going to be even worth listing now. Every time go to the post office though counter staff mention it. They agree it's ridiculous.

I sold a man 2 boxes of items last week, he paid £5 postage the cheapest was £5.20 sending both together or more sending separately and he gave me two 1s for postage and 2 1s for dispatch time, he bought Sunday evening posted Tuesday morning. Miserable ****. And they'll be more dumb one's like that who somehow miraculously expect to buy something for **** and then get postage for **** all.

The post has been edited. I used the word b*gg*r not f word. Looks like I have a really potty mouth now.

OMG had no idea the prices were going up this much :-( and to top it all the amount of compensation you get for a standard parcel either 1st or 2nd Class has decreased from £46 to only £20 in order to get cover upto £50 you have to pay signed for (recorded delivery which currently costs an extra 95p) and that is an extra £1.10.
I buy and sell lots of dvds on Ebay mainly full collections and boxsets this rise will in effect double the postage charges for most of my items....daylight robbery!!!!
