They are hardly going to offer you a complete magazine on their website. If they did no-one would bother buying it:roll:

this has got to be the worst site i've ever come across - after eventually navigating my way round it to get avfree magazine, it won't even open - and yes, i have installed the reader software -

Just went to post this freebie after receiving it in an email.

Seems like a pretty good free offer to me although my titchy little monitor doesn't cope well !

Anyway there's a couple of Digital Photo mags for free so it's worthwhile to me. I'm going to post a link to here in the HUKD "Show us your photo" thread pinkkitty and then you should get some more response.

Voted hot !

Voted hot!! Downloaded digital camera mag!!

I will expect to see some stunning photos very soon on the "show us your photos " thread taken by a new Nikon D40 then :p
#16
As someone who spends half the year abroad this is a fantastic freebie. thanks OP

will be interesting to see the prices. webuser magazine for instance does its own digital downloads via zinio for 46% discount. will these prices at smiths reflect this, or be at coverprice?
#17
This is another classic example of why downloading stuff rather than buying the physical thing doesnt work. The charges they expect for an emagazine is a joke, from what I can see the price is the same as buying it off the shelf. A joke just like buying music online is pricewise.

The freebie is great though.

Just downloaded digital camera mag. Voted hot!!

I had presumed that. So annoying when sites presume you are using a Windows PC (not sure if this one does, not looked but quite often a download link will go straight to a .exe)
#22
I buy magazines for the freebies. Since they're charging the same price as buying it off the shelf, I am not convinced. Still, heat added for the freebie.
#23
Dont forget to check out the other offer on this site... 3 mags for £1. by d.d, but wait awhile , then cancel it. get 3 good mags just for the £1.....

Eventually I am sure most magazines will be free online. They make plenty of money from the advertising in the magazine, especially the cheaper ****** ones like heat; the gadgety ones probably not so much.
The cover price is going to be a small part of their profits for magazines like heat/hello which rely on a massive audience to get more money for advertising in them, so offering them free online will increase their market penetration and the cost of advertising in their magazine.

Thats Brilliant!

Heat & rep added

After choosing my free emag, then downloading the client software I can't get past the email and password dialog box. I have quadruple checked my email address and also case sensitivity of the password and it is fine. Anyone else have trouble with the software?

(no it's not my software firewall blocking it either as I have set up appropriate rules for the client).

No mine worked fine. Thats rather strange. Do you have another email addy so you could set up another account and make sure you spell your email addy and password right?

Apologies if mentioned elsewhere, but re. this site "presuming windows", it does state on the opening page:
"Please note that eMagazines are currently only available for PCs."
