Quidco would like to offer you FREE home energy saving products as part of the Government's initiative to cut carbon emissions. These products are designed for use in the home and aim to reduce energy use, resulting in savings on your utility bills.

FREE Energy Saving Plug

Don't just standby, start saving energy with a free LIME energy saving plug worth £19.99. This intelligent plug turns your appliances off standby in one easy click via your remote control. Households in the UK now spend around 10% of their electricity bill on standby power, with the average household having up to 12 gadgets left on standby at any one time. (source: Energy Saving Trust). Leaving items on standby wastes energy and money, so start thinking 'savings' not 'standby' with a free LIME energy saving plug and you could save up to £20 on your energy bills.
FREE Water Widget

One fifth of a household's carbon footprint already comes just from heating water (source: Act On CO2), turn your shower into an ecoshower and save money on your energy and water bill. This clever gadget takes less than 5 minutes to fit and reduces the amount of water used by up to 70%. For an averaged sized 3 bedroom house this could result in a saving of up to £80 off your annual bill. Not suitable for low flow showers and not recommended for electric showers.
Offer extended exclusively for Quidco members until Friday 27th May 2011

oops... could a mod sort this out please!

these are bulky, ugly, and not very responsive, I have one, and it has been used twice. as too much hassle

I got one of these a few months back. The plugs for my tv, AV receiver, xbox, blu-ray player etc are all hidden away behind a unit so this was perfect to get everything switched off when not in use, that was until last week when it stopped working.

Now when I press the button that's been programmed I hear the unit click to cut the power (and the light will either go on or off on it - I can't remember which way round it is) but the power is not cut. This means now everything stay on standby and the unit packed up after only a few months :-(

i got this few months ago.

You can always hold the power button on the plug to reset it. Then it can be reprogrammed with remote again. It works.

Perfect device. For free :-)

I dont know how anyone can say there bulky and ugly ,there no bigger than some of the timer switches you can buy. I got one for my 85 year old neigbor and it works perfect , she was over the moon . If there so ugly , do you know where I can get a good looking one ?
#11
thanks.
nice find

free is good but if it is as unreliable as people say then it's hardly green if you bin the fricking thing after they built it and shipped it from China - carbon footprint and all that.

I've tried that many times. Like I said it reacts like it's working (I hear the click and the light changes) but it simply does not stop the power getting to the tv etc :-(

That's what I did yesterday to hopfully get a replacement for my broken one.

Previously got one at my new address, one for my old address (mail was still being redirected) and one for my dad at his address.

If your address is a number you could alleays addxa letter to it to bypass the fact you all reAsy have one (ie 34 becomes 34a) postman will still post it unless your neighbour is 34a lol
#34
nice cheers

I got one of these about a year ago, started actively using it about 9 months ago and it works perfectly. I've had no problems with it whatsoever, and it's one of the best 'gadgets' I've brought in to the house :) Would definitely recommend.

I applied for this last year and thinking i didnt recieve one, thought they had too many applicants for this offer and i missed out.Tried again just a moment ago and they said water saver and plug socket had already been sent out and i cannot apply for another one-either the post office never delivered it,was stollen at the other end or postman delivered it to wrong address(which has happened on a regular basis with previous mail)-really would have been useful for me with me being on benefits.Grrr :(
