We're giving everyone in the country a bonus this spring by opening our doors for free on the weekend of 20-21 March 2010.

The Bonus Time initiative, launched by the Trusts Director General, Fiona Reynolds and Chairman, Simon Jenkins, is a spring gift to the nation and offers everyone the perfect excuse to get out in the fresh air and discover the great outdoors.

'You are never more than 40 minutes away from a place looked after by the National Trust, wherever you are in the country,' said Fiona Reynolds, Director General of the National Trust.

'This is the perfect excuse to discover whats on your doorstep, perhaps re-visit somewhere you pass regularly or explore somewhere totally new.'

To make the most of the bonus time weekend download the voucher below.

If you're visiting our areas of countryside you will also benefit from free parking at all of the car parks which give access to hundreds of miles of coastline and thousands of acres of the most amazing countryside that England, Wales and Northern Ireland have to offer. All you need to do is display a copy of the Bonus Time voucher in your vehicle.

All pay for entry properties, countryside and coastal car parks that are normally open over 20 - 21 March will be participating in the offer. There will be a number of excluded properties which will be listed here from 1 March 2010.

I'm sure they wouldn't turn you away for it, to be honest.... they're trying to get as many people in as possible. I think they probably just put that bit about photocopies on every voucher (online and offline) without thinking about what it means to people printing them out.

Hehe! Try living where I do - I never know whether they're classing Stockton-on-Tees as being in Cleveland, Co. Durham, Teesside or Tees Valley - wish they'd make their minds up, lol!
