So you can see their prices. Wacka, wacka.

I think this will be their standard offering until they can issue NHS prescriptions. They cannot at present issue NHS prescriptions or vouchers, so if you do take the eye test at Costco you will have to get your glasses from them. Having said that if you are not getting any subsidy from the NHS then Costco prices are very very reasonable anyway.

I was given a prescription. The optician said that i could take it to other stores to buy glasses with. Would NHS prescriptions been any different?

Think they are doing £50 off a 2nd pair of glasses at the min with voucher....

Maybe my comments are slightly misleading as I may have misunderstood the Costco optician when I spoke to her. However, Costco definitely cannot issue any NHS vouchers e.g. for children, students under 19, people on benefits, people with complex prescriptions and many other categories. These vouchers give you discounts on your glasses and varies between ~£35 to ~£400. Costco are not fully registered with the NHS currently. However, if you have your eye test elsewhere and you get a NHS voucher, you can use these in Costco and thus reduce the already significantly reduced prices.
