Worth a go - nice one cheers. A free set-top box and £50/year for sending off a text once a week can't be bad and the new service looks good and is much needed!
#6
Worth a shot...thanks
#7
I have tried too, sounds good! Just not sure how long the commitment period is? Just 1 year or every year for the rest of your life?!

Yeah it could be expensive, hence why they then pay £50 back per year - probably just to cover text costs. If this is the case I won't be texting

Well, I guess they will perhaps not send the £50 per year, and if they are really tight they might ask for the box back.

Steve

I once had sex with Steve Davis...

..oops..did I say that out loud?
#26
Sweet, I haven't got one yet.
#27
Although a good offer for most, I won't be going for it as I have a PVR and I wouldn't stop using that to use their free box, so they wouldn't get a lot of feedback from me! I suppose I could just make it up, but I really couldn't be bothered with the hassle!

I guess it comes from not being called Steve!

Voted Hot anyway, as it is no doubt a good offer.

no, you typed it on the internet, but then again you could have said it out loud but no one can hear you as you're on a computer! :giggle:

You're female....

I just called them up. Your set-top box would need to be connected for the whole twelve months and be on stand by. You get the voucher after twelve months. During the twelve months you would need to send them forty eight text messages. Im sure there is an easier (and cheaper) way to make fifty quid and get a set top box!!

Yes, I knew there would be a catch, so it does look like the £50 is a refund plus small commission for sending 48 text messages.

And what if you don't send the texts? I don't care too much for that free £50, a free box is enough for me.

I don't mind leaving my box on standby for a year if I got it for free.
#35
Please note the free Freeview set-top box offer has come to an end.

And I'm Steve too :)
#36
If you don't send text messages back they will not send you the £50 . At least you still get the Set-top-box.
#37
I used to go out with a Steve, from Stevenage
Weird, bet almost everyone could have a Steve connection.

I believe the set-top box is no longer available, clicked through and this was on screen:

"Please note the free Freeview set-top box offer has come to an end."

"If you already have a Freeview box capable of receiving Teletext Extra (click here to check), or if you would like to register your interest to help with future developments of the service on additional Freeview boxes then please complete the registration form below:"

Soz Beanoni, have just seen your post, DUR me!
