Do you have the skills?

Being a successful Air Traffic Controller isn’t so much about your previous work experience or background. It’s to do with the way in which you approach problems, handle pressure and adapt to changing situations

We’ve developed a series of mini-games to help you decide whether it’s the kind of career that might be right for you.

They test a range of basic cognitive skills which are required by Controllers

I would be no good as a Air Traffic controller, I would try to join all the dots into one to clear the screen in an effort to progress to the next level.

How can you expect people to live off that starting salary

Not surprising. A lot of industries are the same, or worse.

Quickly goes up to a very good salary.

A bit worrying that a company looking for people with an eye for detail etc have a blatant mistake. On the second game, 'sequential memory', when you open it you're told the instructions. It says 'An incorrect selection loose you a life'. Terribly English and terrible spelling mistake. I'll think twice before boarding an aeroplane now ;-)

And the irony is my phone corrected my fat thumb typing of 'terrible' to 'terribly' ha ha

....and most A.T.C end up having heart attacks or stress related illnesses.

Last time I checked aeronautics aren't heavily reliant on spelling skills.

So what is the point in this when the games give you no benchmark of results?
Just looks like a fancy way to attract attention to their website.

This isn't designed to be played as a game for high scores - it's a series of tests to see if you have skills that are desirable to have as an Air Traffic Controller.

Don't be fooled into thinking this is it - if you get through the first few rounds of formal interview tests and get invited back you can try the FEAST and DART tests at the assessment centre. Then you will recognise how the tests you tried on this site relate to what you do there, but with a much more complex and high speed versions.

Seriously!? You'd struggle to live off £1000 a month?

Considering you would be a trainee at the time, it doesn't seem remotely bad to me...

Like the majority of 'free' games. Of course you can help with their marketing by sharing your score on social media.

No it's not, there is nothing to say how well you've done, it's just a few games to attract attention to their website and recruitment process.

So it's ok to see flight 'A567' as flight 'A576' for example? I know that's numbers but a similar principle.

Yeah but at the test center they give you a personality test ---- I never do well on those, I am always put in the not a team player/doesn't play well with others category.

Always suggests I should be a scientist.
#23
Does this crash whilst you use it? :)
#24
I'm a controller :) money goes up quickly. and our spelling is atrocious.
#25
I was ok at following the shapes, terrible at getting the sequences right, but I got over 10,000 landing planes. The trouble was, it got to me. I got all up tight that one would crash and I'd kill all the passengers. I left the site after that lol

Might give this a try. I've been an Air Traffic Controller since 1998, and not joined too many dots up so far.

How did you do? I'm going to compare my landing score on yours to see if I did ok or not.

I've been told before about something similar to the ATC Landing game for assessments. But instead of clicking you had to solve maths equations to divert a plane :L
