Not sure how Gamestation's card is free but Game's reward card cost's £3 even though they are owned by the same company.

GAMESTATION ELITE - WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

Games are amazing - fact! So to make them even more amazing here's what a new recruit into the Gamestation Elite will get:

Buying New, Pre-owned & Download

You will receive 2.5% of every purchase* back onto your Gamestation Elite card in the form of Experience Points (XP). So let's break that down; if a game costs you £39.99 then you will receive 400 XP which can then be spent against your next purchase or saved for something uber cool.

Trade-in

The fun doesn't stop there though... Firstly, do you trade-in you old games for money off new ones? If not, why? And secondly, with the Gamestation Elite Card you'll receive an extra 2.5% of your trade-in value back onto your card as well! Example: Let's say that you trade-in a game worth £25, you'll then receive an additional 250 XP onto your card for the next time you shop. That means you get more money back for simply being a member of the Gamestation Elite - Now that is cool!

Now if you add both of the examples above together, you are going earn some serious XP.

How much are XP worth?

100XP = 25p
400XP = £1
800XP = £2
And so on, get it? Good!

Spending XP

You can spend XP however you wish with the minimum spend being 400 XP (£1) through to the entire value of your purchase (if you have enough XP of course!) You can check how much XP you have available to spend by going in-store and telling a member of staff you would like to check your Gamestation Elite balance.

i really dont think il be getting one it doesnt seem worth it as ul be loosing out on money especially if u trade in alot as i do
#3
same points reward as game, it just lets you spend it a £1 at a time instead of being restricted to £2.50 at game.

anyone know if there also free instore

If you like the retailer then it can only be a good thing. I boycott the Gamestation in my home town as the staff there are rude and argumentative and the shop smells funny. The customer is rather a figure of fun than king, shall we say. But Gamestation's website is good for ordering.

I am voting this hot even though the in-store prices often exceed my budget.

I actually just picked one of these up in my local Gamestation store this morning for free - they take your name, address and DOB and activate it instore . I often get the £2.50 credit from online purchases from my Game.co.uk points card, so seemed daft not to do the same with their other site as well if I do order online or buy instore :)

I love my local Gamestation. The staff are really friendly and are always helpful. Even the manager gets stuck in. I'll go there before anywhere else.
No, I'm not associated with them in any way :p

If you find a good Gamestation then treasure it. Nurture it. I used to like the independent nature of GS as being there for the consumer to offer competition to GAME. Then, guess what, GAME bought out the competition. Then things got weird with GS policies. Like having to provide photographic proof of a price or indeed even a price match till receipt from their own sister company before they would price match. Then I bought a used game which someone had written on with a marker pen and they wouldn't refund only exchange (after a needlessly long discussion). I gave up on mine long ago and would never set foot in the shop.

Same here i've always found my local gamestation to be polite and a pleasure to deal with. Onetime i couldn't see a game on the shelf i was after and one of the staff searched high and low for me for the game. He eventually found a copy downstairs.

My local game station is awesome.
The main thing to remeber is they will beat any trade in price by £1.

If you have a cex local their trade in prices are always higher than gamestations so print a price off the web take it in with you and they will beat it by £1.

For instance I bought Bloodstone for £13.99 from play and at the moment cex offer £16 trade in. So gamestation will give me £17 tradein plus the bonus points. These types of game usually take me a week or so to finish so quids in at the end.
