Nope - you can download as mp3 (I've just been streaming it so I haven't checked, but it's usually 320 kbps).

As far as I'm aware, there are no lossless formats on Google Play, and if you upload your own FLAC files, they get 'converted to 320 kbps mp3' - probably just a pointer to the existing mp3 in their cloud (I haven't uploaded an edited track to check it, but that would be an interesting experiment).

Why do they call them "crooners". It's basically a word for "can actually sing" when you hear these people compared to 80% of the weak vocal skills around these days.
