Nice one, thanks! Asks for a company name though - so made one up.:pirate:

Careful not to make company names up. I hear it is illegal and can lead to trouble? Maybe not, perhaps someone can elaborate on that!

It's illegal to call yourself a company name ending in limited or plc (public limited company) unless you actually have the benefit of limited liability. You only have this if you have registered the name at companies house and comply with the legal requirements this entails.

However any individual can trade under almost any name they wish, providing it doesn't end in limited or plc (plus a few other select terms). It's all about not trying to suggest you are something you are not. But if you want to call yourself 'The MattC Company' or 'MattC & Co.' you certainly can.

Or indeed you could call yourself 'The company with no name' :giggle:

Hey guys we've had an email request from a Clearswift representative that this company is Business to Business only. Can you please respect this and only make relevant queries.

Thanks.

Received a letter from them today at my office.

"Please find enclosed your complimentary copy of the 'Email Security for Dummies' pocketbook, as promised....blah, blah blah..."

All I got was a sales brochure, no pocketbook. :x

Currently located in File 13!
