A grand return for the Hot Dog. Possibly my favourite savory besides the tomato soup. Thanks for this as I had to check for confirmination
#2
I take it you just show them the barcode and you don't get charged?
#3
you say you have a code from the app for a hotdog they push some buttons then you put the code in to the chip and pin machine. unless you get an older member of staff who will write the number on a piece of paper, if she doesn't ever key it in to the system you could use the code again.

You're right - these are the most disgusting hot dogs you're ever likely to encounter anywhere! Odd, perhaps, because Greggs stuff is usually surprisingly good.

But these are just incredibly horrible - we threw ours straight into the nearest bin. I wonder what's in them? :|

I had a few redemption since I downloaded the app few months back. Though one time I got declined by the staff just while I was going to redeem the christmas bake. I've been told you need to have 5 quid minimum topped up to your app in order to qualify and it's on T&C. But still, I redeemed a couple of free stuff without top up and still went through.

just got my free at brixton market. Didnt use my code at all so i guess i can get another one but i can definitely confirm it is one of the worst hot dogs ive ever seen. and i even buy from those guys on the street at 2am.
#11
Yup, had one of these last time they gave one away. Tossed half of it in the bin :(

Thanks, just picked one up. Personally I didn't think it was too bad for free :p

You won’t be charged for the Hot Dog though... that’s on us! And if a Hot Dog doesn’t float your boat, you can opt for a Cheese and Onion Pasty instead.

Options people! :)
#14
I already have an app, where could I find my hot dog? (:
#15
Look in Greggs Rewards section of the app - should mention the iPad competition & a free hot dog offer

Was going to post this - heat added. Also you don't need a smartphone app to get this, can do it on the pc and take the code to the shop with you.

Oh dear - the only 'ism' you can get away with.

I've had one of these hot dogs before and I really enjoyed it. Very similar to the IKEA hot dogs which are delicious!

I missed out on my festive bake and soup but got 2 bakes already and it is nice to have the option of the cheese and onion bake , didn't get my Birthday treat cake either but it is a really good app when my phone isn't playing up or am too busy or can't be arsked (_;)

Just got an email about this, which says:

Not tried yet, but may be an option if you're not a fan of their hot dogs (which many of you don't seem to be).

But they taste damn good! As do sweets which contain animal fat/hooves. It's all goooooooooooood :)

I quite enjoyed mine but it was covered in mustard and ketchup.

If you don't like them, maybe see if there is someone homeless who looks like they might really appreciate a free meal. Seems a terrible waste people are throwing half of it away!!

Is this the reward app where you have to add £10 to your account?

More of a strain on the toilet.

I got this today from the Greggs on Great Portland Street. They didn't have any of the hot dog rolls in stock, so served it to me in one of the baguettes they normally use for their sandwiches. Tasted much nicer, as the bread was really fresh.

I didn't know that. I have tried to use the app to PAY in 5 different shops and had terrible trouble trying to use the £10 credit I have loaded on my app - the connectivity for wifi in store is shocking (even after my iphone tells me to download cloud, still does not connect!) Find it embaressing because there is always a queue, the staff speak down to you like YOU are stupid & they never seem to have a clue how to process the payment or complimentary offer! GRRRR!

I appreciate you sharing that information - THANK YOU!

So exactly can you do this on the pc ? I've checked my account and there is the free hot dog offer under "My offers", but it only mentions the smartphone app.
#34
I think what gary189 is saying is that you can access the eight digit code before you go into greggs, saving you the hassle instore. I'm going to give it a try!
#35
Be aware if you already have credit in your Greggs account - refuse the offer of a drink for an extra 50p, unless you want to pay the full £1.50 for the drink. I did, and it took £1.50 from my account. It mustn't calculate deals but charge separately for each item.

I've got a feeling it's a problem with the app itself. I've had the same issues with it telling me I'm not connected to the internet when I clearly am.

Do you had to add £10 to the reward app or can you sign up for it without adding any money?
#38
Cool beans! Thanks OP.
Mine expires 01/02/2015
