Free loft and cavity wall insulation this winter from EDF

  i'm thinking they will say they will only insulate some of your loft (as your loft is too big!)and make you pay for the rest. Have heard this happening to other people.

  love how they say "and now we are offering it for FREE" omitting the fact that the costs are added on to everyone's utility bills!

  you can't have cavity insulation if your house was built before the 1930's.

  Well you can if its a pre-1930s cavity construction (most aren't though).

  If you took away all of these CESP obligations handed down by Government, your utility bill would probably come down by ~£100 per annum. Add to this, we will soon have to pay for everyone to have a Smart Meter which will be another ~£40 per annum, plus all the other green nonsense ... we could probably knock 25% off our bills if the government would stop putting in place these "stealth taxes".

  I just climbed up on my roof to check the date my house was built. It was snowing, but I needed to know, so hey.
  
  It said 'Made in Taiwan'.

  some of the clauses are contradictory....
  
  - Confirm your home is not a flat or maisonette, or that the insulation is not for an extension only.
  - If you live in a flat, maisonette or dormer bungalow, confirm your property has a loft and that the insulation isn’t for an extension only. (Why bother asking this based on the first point...
  
  -Confirm your home is not timber or metal framed, pre-fabricated or made from natural stone or concrete. what could it be made out of then, just brick??
