Nice offer by GMPTE. I went to get the tram on Saturday and was expecting to pay, but it was free! And they are doing the same again tomorrow to say thank you for people's patience during all the works they have been doing. I take my car everywhere and was surprised how fast and efficent the tram was, got me from Salford Quays to town in under 15 mins.

No voucher or anything, simply turn up and don't buy a ticket!

I have put this in deals and not freebies as I think it deserves to be in deals, it can actually save people money tomorrow or allow people to go to do their Xmas shopping or visit the Xmas market for free - can't say fairer than that!

Enjoy! :D

Voted hot because it's free and you can't argue with that! A token gesture though - anyone who uses this service on a regular basis will know how jaw-droppingly awful it has been for the last six months or so

It's not a deal though it was in freebies before, that's where someone posted it last week too RE Saturday,i was on it ,never again, talk about sardines!! we had to let two trams go as well because they were so full!!

It one of the worst thing ever and I'm not just talking about public transportation systems.

From it's absolute complete lack of reliability, to it's Nazi Germany-esque staff, to the annoying 'peep' noise that it makes whenever it sets off or somebody walks anywhere near close to it's path. It's also bloody expensive.

If you want to do a decent mass transportation system then create an underground network, not this tram rubbish. I don't hate many things in this world, but I seriously hate the Metrolink so I'm voting cold for that reason.

1 day to make up for the last 6 months lol - poor if u ask me

Well that's the metrolink all over really.

Salford Quays to town in less than 15 minutes?

I could have hopped there blindfold in that time!!!

lol well I enjoyed my journey on it on Saturday, was quiet and quick and free! And it made me actually consider using it in the future if I needed to - saves on parking in town. But I can understand why people can find it frustrating, public transport and all that!

Should be good if it is running, the reliability of the system in recent months really has been terrible.

Well you would have got very wet as it was chucking it down!

Awful service. Dirty, dangerous and unreliable. It should be free for life for those poor souls who are forced to use it.

I used to travel to work on Metrolink (for 5 years every day) and had to stand most of the time and arrived late for work about once a fortnight. Horrible. About half the service is run with replacement bus services anyway.

Chances are they've messed up again! It was free at the weekend because it ******ed up during the week! Lost count how many times its been free because they've messed up!

Agree with all the above that Manchester Metrolink is very badly organised:x

Voting this hot though, after the previous post I used the metro last Saturday and all was fine for me:). This will be very useful to a lot of people in Manchester tomorrow:thumbsup:

Good reminder. Thanks

Reliable and efficient this morning... surprisingly. No doubt it'll be back to normal tomorrow and I'll be late for work.
