Free Matter Box Full Of Goodies

I got one of these last time and it was full of cool stuff. Different editions go out at different times. Which box you get and when you get it depends on which companies they're working with. You might get your first box in a few weeks or some months' time. Definitely worth signing up to so you don't miss out.

#5
Signed up for this ages ago, haven't received anything.
#6
Based on the above responses i wonder if this is just a con to get you to sign up so they can use it as free market info
#7
Got one last time round - so did a pal.
#8
I signed up a few years ago and got 1 box. It contained samples from various companies.
These are the bits I remember: A lens cloth from Lovefilm (which said on it 'dont watch dirty movies') along with vouchers, shampoo, a roaring fire dvd :), an abridged book, some sort of chocolate bar, and a few other things i've forgotten about now. Think there might have been a keyring or a bottle opener.
Was good for free. Shame they haven't done any more lately.

I and my son have applied for this a couple of times and received the box only once each. So, first time applicants might be successful.

OTOH receiving anything does seem to be a bit hit and miss. No harm in trying again.:)
#10
It's not, you do get some free stuff, as well as the usual advertising, but they don't send your details to anyone, and they're run by Royal Mail - (probably the cause for the delay in another box coming out..).
#11
thanks
#12
i have never received a box
#13
I think it has a lot to do with which boxes you tick in your interests - my advice... tick them all LOL! xx
#14

#15

#16

Have ordered a couple of times before but didn't receive anything.
#20
I applied for this and got nothing hope you get it .
#21
I've had their first pilot box which was amazing- play-doh, nissan soap 'crayons', cadburys choc bars, washing lotions etc. 2nd box not so good but still excellent for free. I kept correspondance with him for a while-lovely bloke.

Costs were pretty high-even though companies volunteer items for free they have to talk them into it and pull the whole thing together, fingers crossed there'll be another but who knows,x
#22
Signed up ages ago, never received a thing, might as well sign again.
Good luck getting one though, seems very hit and miss.

Based on the responses when you wrote that, 2 people said they got one, two people said they didn't. Hardly evidence of a con!
#24
It's not a con. I was surprised to get the box through the mailbox as I originally thought it might be a con too when I signed up. Oh and for the person who said there's only been one, there have been two. (I've only had 1 but a friend has had both). The 1st was in a limited quantity though, and the 2nd was more widespread.
Something for nothing is always good, unless you're talking about a disease. =/
#25
Only takes 3 minutes or so to sign up. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I imagine it'd be nice to receive a surprise package through the door with little play gadgets and magazine samples etc.
#26
Got nothing here either. But due to my area having a very bad parcel delivery rep with Royal Mail, they may of just kept it themselves.
#27
Signed up ages ago tooand havent received anything as yet but if you read the FAQ its gives more details about who and when gets them.
Also on the blog it states this - The next edition of Matter is going to our 18-24 year old subscribers and we’re going to be doing something unusual with it. Cadbury, as official sweet sponsors of the 2012 London Olympics, are setting out to create a new kind of game that everyone can play and can carry around with them–called Pocketgame.

I too received this box, this is the one & only box they have done so far, no need to keep reapplying once you have signed up you are on there list.
They were hoping to send out different boxes to different types of people ie Male or Female, over 30's etc

UPDATE - Just logged onto Matterbox and this was posted in thier blog -

I applied for this in November 2008 and have never received anything from them. I've emailed them occasionally and also tried commenting on their blog and never had a reply.
