i can confirm the code.
probably won't open this up untill 10am to give the readers(cough) time to evolve...
#5
not valid :( maybe i need to buy the newspaper :P
#6
Has anyone actually got a paper with the details, it looks as if there is a time limitation.
Looks good if we can get it to work, it will give me a chance to see what play is like as a company, often thought about buying stuff from them.

please check BBC News 24 for regular validity updates :-)

The terms and conditions does not give a time when the code will be valid all it says is that you must claim before midnight tomorrow and it's on a strictly first come first served basis. Also the code is only one per person
#9
still not accepting code.....
#10
probably a con as gives you a '0845' number to ring if having problems which people will no doubt ring and thats where they ll claim the costs back as they ll make the money off the calls which will no doubt cover cost of headphones !!
#11

I'm just about to ring them... see what info i can get, and i'll get back to you if i get anywhere... chances are phone lines are jammed with lots more people though!

@DrLamok- its asks if you have a discount voucher on the right of the screen during the checkout phase.

dont vote cold on this

this is a valid freebie - a bloody good one at that - the problem is either with the newspaper or Play - not the op

thousands of you voted hot the free note pad - in reality - your not going to get one - i would be very very surprised if most of you did - but you still voted hot on a freebie that you havent seen

I have phoned Play.com
They have said the voucher is valid only valid tomorrow (monday)
We shall see!

It says in paper it must be used BEFORE tomorrow (monday) ????!
Who knows then
#16
I guess Monday it is then, however wouldn't it be hilarious if it all went belly up and Play got some negative press from another one of their errors

Just try ringing the outside uk number which is geographical. This can be used for a lot of companies to save a few pennies.

0845 numbers don't make the companies profit, they are classed as local rate, it's the 0870 numbers you need to avoid.

ive been waiting now for their last deal 2 weeks and i paid for that one!!!!!!!!

Registration with Play.com and valid credit card details required. They check the credit card. I entered my details while registering but put incorrect security number down. i placed no order. Just got an e-mail saying "Invalid credit card details. Order cannot be processed".
Why they try to validate my card when no purchase made? Draw your own conclusions.

they set up an account for you, so you dont need to enter card details every time you buy something

Free Maxell headphone offer is limited to one product per customer. Any orders of more than one product will be cancelled on Monday. There is currently a problem with the voucher code as published in the daily star today, Sunday 22nd Aug. We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. Please be assured anyone legitimately entering the code from the newspaper before midnight Monday 23rd August will get the headphones in the offer, if necesarry we will extend the offer redemption timing.

moonmonkey "they set up an account for you, so you dont need to enter card details every time you buy something"[/quote

Then why validate the card? they state they do not keep a record of the security number so that would have to be verified. Anyway, I do not like have my card details stored by anyone. I do a lot of online buying and have always had the option of whether or not they store my details.
Also, Amazon keep your details when you register but do not contact your bank to validate the card until you make a purchase. However, if you wish to compromise your card account details that is your choice.
