Agreed, although wish I didn't have to re-register after 12 months unlike the auto renewal for registration of before
What I'd like to ask is, how/why is AVG now no good? I've used it for years and, touch wood, had next to no virus problems, or malware hassle either.
Much better than avg, far less resource consuming aswell.
Agreed. I had to switch to Avast as well. You can use the free version for 12 months without registering again.
Also read good things about Microsoft Security Essentials. Use either of the two.
I do use microsoft for my pure gaming PC as it is very good on resource use but have Avast! for the family PC as that is more likely to get pwned

the number of threads in MISC with people having viruses are nearly all AVG users from what I have seen
I'd rather have nothing than AVG FREE
Just because AVG doesnt find any viruses on your PC, doesnt mean you are not infected (you most likely are!)
KASPERSKY found 3 trojans on my old AVG PC that had been there years - luckily I hadnt excuted them (and they werent false positives either).

Poor design
Bloated
Slow
causes random BSOD
The number of cases of BSOD on reboot after install.....
Slow scan times
No cloud based detection
Overheads
Prior to this AVG was brilliant and in use since it first came out! Sorry that ship has sailed... Personal choice is a get a copy of Norton OEM for about £13 easily the best paid for AV out there at the moment and before you Norton bashers start it's NOTHING like the Norton of old that we all used to moan about
AVG was good when it came out because there wasnt many other freebies around, as soon as avast came in the scene people realise how poor AVG is im suprised people still use that crap.
quick edit to above post whilst i mainly agree with you norton isnt the best ESET Nod32 is by farrrrrrr.
