Free Microsoft Office on 5 PCs until at least March 2013 (Office 2013 Preview)

RoughNeckTwoZeroRoughNeckTwoZero

Thought this may be of interest if you like living on the bleeding edge and would like to use Office for free. The Home Premium version of the new Office Preview allows 5 installs per Windows Live account and gives full preview/beta versions of the new Office Apps.

The Office Customer Preview will expire approximately 60 days after the official release date of Office 2013.

The Office 15 Roadmap says that the product will RTM at the end of 2012 or Q1 2013 meaning that the preview will be good until at least March 2013.

This definitely won’t be for everyone but is an interesting way to get Office for free for the next 7 months or so!

A limited trial is hardly a "hot deal" is it? I could list a few hundred of these.

Most people will have a working version of Office on their machine, install this and cripple their old version if it was OEM. But that's not mentioned here.

That alone makes this borderline spam.

    What are you talking about.

It is a deal as you are getting office software for nothing for about the next seven months. If you could find 'hundreds' of these (with software that people actually use) then I suggest you post them.

Personally I'm not a fan of Office 2013, but I'll still be giving heat as I know a lot of people could benefit from this.

So you need an office 365 plan which costs, therefore not a freebie

No you don't. The Applications are installed locally and can be used until 60 days after Office 2013 is RTMd. I shouldn't have put in the bit about Office 365 though it applies there too. Will try and edit.

Hmmm. Didn't think the title could be any more clear. Yes It's Free until at least March 2013 when it will expire and become read only.

If you can't discuss this without resorting to insults then there's nothing to discuss.

You have some strange logic - describing this deal as spam, so guessing there wasn't much of a 'discussion' to be had

Just spent 5 mins looking, but none of the links above take you to where 2013 trial can be downloaded!

Is there a link that will actually work, please?

    This is the one: http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/en/try-office-preview

    1. Click on 'Try' under Office 365 Home Premium Preview
    2. Sign in with your Windows live account
    3. Click install. This installs the Office 2013 Apps.

    Cheers

Hmm should we put every piece of software in the freebies section that offers a trial period. I don't think so, this could get out of hand.
We may need an extended trial section and I'm laughing as I'm typing.

Sigh. Maybe you should do some research before you hit submit? That way you might not post completely incorrect information...

    From the FAQ

Can I keep my current version of Office during the Preview? .
    .
Yes, you can install and use the Preview version alongside an existing version of Office 2003, Office 2007, or Office 2010.

I'm using in alongside Office 2010 try it out though I posted the deal with people in mind who don't have Office installed on one of their PCs and would like it free for 7 months.

Great find, thanks for posting it.

So many haters on here trolling away the day.
I shall install in parallel with 2007.
