Has advertising but is free, its in pilot at the moment however should be available soon i guess you can sign up for the pilot now.

Laptops and ipads etc..

Users build their mobile broadband credit by selecting and viewing high quality advertising.

Nobody has ever offered something like Samba before, so if you want free mobile broadband, just sign up, and we will send you an exclusive invitation when a space appears.
Samba is founded by accomplished internet, mobile and advertising entrepreneurs from Orange, Digicel and Media Edge:CIA. It is funded by Irish telecoms entrepreneur Denis O'Brien.

Blatantly stolen from r2d25aa on MSE!

worth a try.
anyone know if this will work on a windows phone??
#18
Sounds a bit like Blyk if anyone remembers that network. They gave you £15 of free credit every month in exchange for receiving a few adverts to your phone now and again - an absolute steal.

Blyk has shut down now, unfortunately, and I imagine this'll go the same way eventually. Ads can only pay their way so far...

Has anyone actually recieved the service?
#22
I just got my invitation email. Can't wait to get the hardware. I wonder how many ads you have to watch...
#23
Unlocks anyone? :-)
#24
this work guys?
#25
Just received mine today, it's a ZTE MF112, unsure if it's unlocked but comes bundled with 3 software and runs on 3's infrastructure. Mushn't grumble
#26
Received mine a few days ago, runs on the 3 network and I currently have 15 days credit on it after watching about 15-20 minutes of adverts.

You don't even have to watch the adverts I just run them and browse the internet as usual, impressed so far might cancel my 3 mobile contract.
#27
Recieved mine today too, Would anyone say its worth it to tell my broadband suppliers I;m awat for 2 months, and use this?

I am tempted to cancel my 3 mobile broadband account and use Samba but I am not sure how long the trial is going to last and if they are even going to continue with the service.

I was told the trial was exclusive and lasted only for 2 months..

Exclusive yes, and time limited, too (until end of February).

But even though I got in, I have to say that I am not impressed. The system is very intransparent, the amount of ads you have to watch seems to increase all the time (even if you don't use the mobile broadband), and if you watch the ads on the mobile internet, you will quickly hit your monthly limit (suddenly revealed to be 2GB).

I like something free as much as anybody here, but I am not sure this is worth the hassle.

I run Samba on my OS and that Linux Unbuntu 12.04 works on Goggle Chrome and Firefox
