I've not seen this advertised anywhere, but right-clicking on my Onedrive icon on my Windows10 PC (bottom right, taskbar icon on the PC) and choosing "Upgrade", I was pleasantly surprised to see the Microsoft store offering a Free 1 year upgrade for Office 365 (2016 edition, Personal, includes Outlook/Word/XL/Publisher/PPt/Access/Onenote) and which also includes an additional 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage. Good to mid-August 2016.

You will need to gve card payment details but notthng is debited from the card.

I think this is only available for those not already subscribing to Office365 but having an unpaid subscription to Onedrive, but worth a try ? Ts & Cs state you need to be a OneDrive free plan subscriber without an existing paid OneDrive, Office 365 or Groove Music subscription, and have over 5 GB of content stored on OneDrive.

The personal edition will allow you to install on 1xPC/Laptop/large tablet, 1xsmall tablet (I think 7" or less), and 1x Windows10 phone.

Has worked OK for me and an extra 1024GB OneDrive storage added in addition to my current 30GB free allowance.

**Addendum** You can also turn off the auto-renew immediately by toggling the option under your "subscriptions" menu.
Now, you are then offered the option to auto-renew again with 1 extra month free, so you get an extra month free.........so 13 months altogether. Then you can still switch off the auto-renew leaving you with 13 months free access and the extra month remains.
This gives the deal the value of £5.99 x 13 months = £77.87.

Thanks OP

What's the catch?
#11
Would I lose the 1GB once the office subscription is over?

hmmm, good question.. I suspect so on losing the 1GB (thats probably the catch)...... But would they wipe any files that took it over the limit if they reduce the limit?

Below is the text that is directly copied from the T&C page:

Office 365 Personal special offer terms

Payment instrument required and will be automatically charged the then-current subscription price after one year unless you cancel your subscription at http://www.office.com/myaccount. Offer must be redeemed via the Microsoft Store online. Limit of one per person/Microsoft account; must use the account associated with your OneDrive subscription. May not be redeemed by or transferred to another customer, or combined with other offers. Violation of these terms may result in cancellation of your Office 365 subscription. Does that mean I can redeem this on the 14th of August 2016? I can wait until then?
#15
yes, seems so as long as they don't suddenly discontinue it.

Definitely 13 months free. Have you checked that you qualify as per the instruction/T&Cs above ?

Ahhh just the 5gb part i have not got thanks!

I can't see this offer yet. I have a OneDrive account with 130GB space, with 129GB free and no paid subscription. So, if I just add files worth 5GB total I should satisfy all the T&Cs and get the offer, right?

Guess so.....assuming you are not paying for any Onedrive space ?

I don't think so.
The terms state that:

Valid only if you... have over 5 GB of content stored on OneDrive and are not already using more than your storage allotment as of January 15th, 2016

If you didn't have more than 5 GB of data stored on OneDrive as of 15/1/2016, you should not be qualified for the promotion.

I added 5GB to one of my accounts earlier this week for famiy mmber, this worked. I assumed the January 2016 was referring to over-usage of the storage allocation.

I dont have the auto One Drive on my laptop. Logged into my hotmail and then went to my OneDrive. The option to upgrade is in the bottom left corner, im just installing it now, free until 17/03/2017. Try it there if you cant find it on your taskbar :)

Why isn't this deal over 1000 heat? Seriously!
#37
Many thanks, currently have about 11gb of used data , completely missed the offer to retain my 30gb of free storage , very disappointed not to have seen/used the link to save my space.

So had the email for this and took it up on new install Windows 10 , used my PayPal account details. Turned off auto renewal then offered additional month . Claimed another month and then turned off auto renewal. Also turned of
Payment authorisation in PayPal login dashboard for Microsoft just in case as well.

If anyone has any info of a way to save my extra allowance after the deadline let me know.
#38
Thanks op. All worked for me!

I put over 5GB on my One Drive but it still only offers 1 month free. Is there a delay before it'll offer the 13 months?
#40
Sweet deal, had an expired Office sub from last year with about 40 GB over my limit and this reactivated my Office sub and 1 TB allowance
