Nice one to add to the CV !

Oxford is the oldest university in the English-speaking world. It has been at the forefront of understanding the world – and shaping it – for centuries.

Students at Oxford enjoy studying at an internationally renowned university with a centuries-old reputation for innovation and outstanding academic achievement.

For the intensity, breadth, quality and impact of its research, Oxford has few peers in the world. Research activity extends from the study of the formation of the Universe and the development of early civilisations, to making governments work better around the world, to high performance computing and the latest breakthroughs in medical science. Oxford’s outstanding academic researchers are today developing new ways of working together, across traditional disciplinary boundaries and across continents, to meet the key challenges of a modern, globalised world. Learn more about our research and fields of study by visiting us at http://www.ox.ac.uk.

From Poverty to Prosperity: Understanding Economic Development
I am surprise that they put on this course, I wouldn't want to learn economic development from a University that has bred andnurtured the very people which drove us to a climate of economic chaos so as to have resulted in 52% vote for Brexit , Brexit aside, globalisation economics turns out to be toxic fluid, so said Zygmund Bauman.
Try Heidelberg U, they have 100% more courses , 2 courses, as a starter for ten.

Wow....do a course & then pay for a certificate with absolutely no value to any employer.....

Many colleges offer free courses from actually recognised & accredited examining boards

Agreed, but many colleges are not of the same calibre as Oxford University!

In my mind this sounds really interesting.

that's all very well but does it qualify you for student discounts?

You don't have to get the certificate, getting the knowledge is the important part, a piece of paper is pretty pointless.

Haha. It's not that bad though, it helps fund the course for continuous years and you don't have to get the certificate. It's just to verify that you've done it.

"Official and Verified -- Receive an instructor-signed certificate with the institution's logo", i.e. Oxford.

Yes but not a recognised qualification with any examining board or professional body.....it is basically the equivalent of a certificate of attendance & the type of things offered by employers to meet IIP/CPD requirements while not actually giving the employee anything useful

Been there done that!

Something to put on your Cv is a course titled "Terrorism and counterterrorism".

That will entice future employers
