Great deal, but I am unsure about ordering glasses over the net. What about fitting? How does that work?

You will need to obtain a prescription, free eye tests at Tesco at the moment... if you have a pair of glasses already, take the measurements from them, if not, it's a bit fiddly but measure your head as to nearest sizes for arm, width, size of lens, PD (pupillary distance) etc. I have always used specs by post and had them delivered in 2 days and never had a problem.

BTW... code for this offer is LENSWAYFREE

What do you expect for free??? I'm sure "fitting" won't be that much of a problem for the lucky 5000

I do apologise for being sensible. I have worn glasses since I was 6 and over the years have had my experience of poor fitted glasses, i.e. sore around the top of the ears and bridge of your nose.
I have never purchased glasses online and was only conveying my opinion and unsure about how these things work.

Thank you to other peoples opinions who have had experience buying glasses online, I may give them a try.

Metsuki online sell designer glasses at fraction of cost

I picked a pair in Vision Express with my lense options would have been £460. I took down the serial number of the frame and purchased from them for £160

Customer service was excellent

If you're having problems and have never bought online - maybe you should worry about your opticians? ^_^

For free, or a cheap backup pair - go for it, bend them about yourself, sorted :D

Sensible enough! You do get the chance to copy directly from your current prescription (or the codes on the left inside 'arm' of your current glasses). this is the required glasses leg length/ bridge gap etc. you will need for comfort. That said...i ordered from Selectspecs and it took nearly 2 months for arrival from China (£9.50 including delivery 'though!)...quality is...debatable! Bear in mind "FREE" is £6 - £10 delivery!

Do they include Scratch Resistant and Anti-Reflective Coatings?

As far as I'm aware I don't think you have to purchase any glasses from tescos to recieve a free eye test.

Great, they pick Thursdays. The only day of the week I get home at 8...

For anyone buying a pair over £50, the £50 discount option seems great.

But if you're spending a lot, check the terms on the site. They have slippery mentions of 'Returns & Refunds", but the small print shows they only offer replacements. Refunds seem reserved for cancellation within 7 days of order being confirmed. Not received.

Neatly denying you your rights to examine goods under the 'Distance Selling Directive'.

But worry not. You can seek redress - 'solely via the courts of British Columbia'!

Hot. For orders under £50.

Oh, and probably best to do your browsing and choosing now. Even if this isn't picked up by Marttin Lewis, I suspect the site wil be painfully S L O W come Thursday.

Its on now! site has been crashing but I know 3 people who have ordered sucessfully today :D
